Hadith Number: 6858
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him), similar to the aforementioned narration, except that at the end it states: Sayyiduna Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Among the Ansar, there was no woman without a husband who spent more than her. Ishaq bin Abdullah narrated from Sayyiduna Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: Do you know what supplication the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made for her? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made this supplication: O Allah! Bestow abundant goodness upon her and do not make her life one of hardship and toil. Among the Ansar, there was no woman without a husband who was more renowned and blessed than her.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: My daughter, Sayyidah Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her), became a widow after the death of Sayyiduna Khunais bin Hudhafah (may Allah be pleased with him). He was among the companions of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and had participated in the Battle of Badr, and he passed away in Madinah. I met Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) and offered Hafsa to him, and I said: If you wish, I will marry Hafsa to you. He said: I will think about it. I waited for a few days, then he met me and said: I do not intend to marry at this time. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I met Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and I said: If you wish, I will marry my daughter Hafsa to you. He did not give any answer, and because of this, I was more grieved with him than with Uthman. Nevertheless, I waited for a few days, and then a proposal for my daughter’s marriage came from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I married her to him. Later, when Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) met me, he said: When you offered Hafsa to me and I did not give you any answer, you must have been upset with me? I said: Yes, indeed. He said: The only thing that prevented me from responding to your offer was that I had heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mention Sayyidah Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her). It was a secret, and I did not want to disclose the secret of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). If he (peace and blessings be upon him) had not married her, I would have married Hafsa.

Thabit Banani says: I was sitting with Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) and one of his daughters was also present with him. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A woman came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Do you have a desire to marry me? Sayyiduna Anas’s (may Allah be pleased with him) daughter said that the woman had so little modesty. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O daughter! She was better than you, because she expressed her desire regarding the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and presented herself to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Narrated by Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I and the woman with dark cheeks will be like these two fingers, close to each other in Paradise on the Day of Resurrection. At the same time, he (peace and blessings be upon him) joined his index and middle fingers together as a gesture. That woman who possesses status and beauty, but after becoming a widow, restrains herself for the sake of her orphans, until they either become independent from her or pass away.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a marriage proposal to a woman from his people named Saudah. She had children; from her deceased husband, she had five or six children, so she refused. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What is the obstacle to marrying me? She said: By Allah! O Messenger of Allah! There is no obstacle; you are the most beloved to me on the face of the earth, but I consider you greater and more honorable than for these children to be crying and wailing at your bedside morning and evening. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Is there anything else that is an obstacle? She said: No, by Allah! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah have mercy on you. The best women who ride camels are the righteous women of Quraysh, who show the most compassion to small children and are the best at safeguarding their husband's wealth.

Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No man should send a proposal for engagement over the engagement of his brother, nor should he bargain over the bargain of his brother. A woman should not be married in the presence of her paternal or maternal aunt.
