It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was present with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he called for the cupper. The cupper came with his cupping instrument and attached it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and began to make incisions on his blessed body with a blade. Meanwhile, a Bedouin from the branch of Banu Farazah of Banu Jadhimah came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) having cupping done, he said: O Messenger of Allah! Why have you allowed him to cut your skin? In fact, he did not know what cupping was, nor had he ever seen it being done. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is cupping. He asked: What is cupping? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the treatments people use, cupping is one of the best treatments.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we went to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to visit him due to his foot ailment. We sought permission from him to apply cauterization. In response, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. We asked again, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. When we asked for the third time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you wish, then apply a hot stone. It was as if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was angry.
