It is narrated from Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) that we were in the mosque after the ‘Isha prayer when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us. He (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his gaze towards the sky and then lowered it, until we thought that some important event had occurred in the sky. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Beware! After me, there will come rulers who will lie and commit injustice. Whoever affirms their lies and helps them in their injustice, he has no connection with me and I have no connection with him. And whoever does not affirm their lies and does not agree with them in their injustice, he is mine and I am his. Beware! The blood of a Muslim is atonement, and these words are among the lasting righteous deeds: Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah, and Allahu Akbar.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon, some rulers will be imposed over you; you will see that they give preference to those who are not deserving over those who are deserving. The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah! What should a person do who finds himself in such circumstances? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Fulfill the rights that are upon you, and ask Allah for your own rights.

In another narration: After me, you will see that preference will be given to the unworthy and undeserving, and you will see such actions that you will not approve of. We said: In such a situation, what do you command us to do? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Continue to fulfill the rights that are upon you, and keep asking Allah for your own rights.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: After me, there will be rulers over you who will erase the Sunnahs, promote innovations, and delay the prayers from their prescribed times. Sayyiduna Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! If I find those people, what is your command for me? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O son of Umm Abd! There is no obedience to one who disobeys Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this three times.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon there will come rulers over you who will command you to do things which they themselves do not practice. Whoever affirms their lies and helps them in their oppression, he is not from me and I am not from him; such a person will never come to me at the Pond.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There will be some rulers who will be of a vile nature, and many wicked people will be with them. They will commit oppression and tell lies. Whoever goes to them and affirms their lies and assists them in their oppression, he has nothing to do with me and I have nothing to do with him. And whoever does not go to them, does not affirm their lies, and does not help them in their oppression, he is from me and I am from him.

There was a pregnant female dog in the host's house. The dog thought, "By Allah! I will not bark at my owners' guest." Meanwhile, one of her puppies in her belly began to cry continuously. Someone asked: "What is this?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty revealed to one of those men that this is the example of that community which will come after you; its foolish people will dominate over its wise ones.
