Rafi’ bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Some hasty people went ahead and quickly took (food items) from the spoils and began to cook them (before distribution). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was with those who were coming behind. When he passed by the pots, he ordered them to be overturned, and so they were overturned. Then he distributed the spoils among them. He considered one camel to be equal to ten goats 1. Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- Sufyan Thawri narrated this hadith via: «عن أبيه سعيد، عن عباية، عن جده رافع بن خديج» , and in this chain, ‘Ubayyah did not mention his father as an intermediary. Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith was narrated to us by Mahmood bin Ghailan, who said: Waki’ narrated to us, and Waki’ narrates from Sufyan. This narration is more authentic; the hearing of ‘Ubayyah bin Rifa’ah from his grandfather Rafi’ bin Khadij is established.
2- In this chapter, hadiths have also been narrated from Thalabah bin Hakam, Anas, Abu Rayhanah, Abu Darda’, Abdur Rahman bin Samurah, Zaid bin Khalid, Jabir, Abu Hurairah, and Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with them).

Chapter: Greeting the People of the Book
Hadith Number: 1602
Narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not initiate the greeting of peace with the Jews and Christians, and if you meet any of them on the road, force them to the narrowest part of it." Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is hasan sahih.
2- In this chapter, hadiths have also been narrated from Ibn Umar, Anas (may Allah be pleased with them), and Abu Basrah Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him).
3- And the meaning of the hadith is that you should not greet them first (rather, only respond to their greeting).
4- Some people of knowledge say: This is disliked because initiating the greeting would be honoring them, whereas Muslims have been commanded to humiliate them. Similarly, when meeting them on the road, do not give way to them, because that too would be honoring them (which is not correct).

Chapter: Dislike of Living Among Disbelievers and Polytheists
Hadith Number: 1604
Narrated from Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent a detachment to the tribe of Khath'am. Some people (among the Muslims living among the disbelievers) sought protection by prostrating, yet they were hastily killed. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was informed of this, he ordered half the blood money to be paid and said: "I am free from responsibility for every Muslim who lives among the polytheists." The people asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Why is that?" He said: "(A Muslim should reside at such a distance from the disbelievers that) they should not be able to see each other's (cooking) fires." __QUR_N__, __XREF_N__, __REF_N__

‘Abdah narrated this hadith via: «إسمعيل بن أبي خالد عن قيس ابن أبي عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» (mursal) similar to the narration of Abu Mu‘awiyah, but in it, he (i.e., ‘Abdah) did not mention the intermediary of Jarir. Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This narration is more authentic,
2- Most of the students of Isma‘il ibn Abi Khalid narrate (mursal) from Qais ibn Abi Hazim from Isma‘il, that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) dispatched a detachment, and in it, they did not mention the intermediary of Jarir, and Hammad ibn Salamah narrated it via: «الحجاج بن أرطاة عن إسمعيل بن أبي خالد عن قيس عن جرير» (marfu‘an) similar to the narration of Abu Mu‘awiyah,
3- I heard Muhammad ibn Isma‘il al-Bukhari say: The correct view is that the hadith of Qais is mursal from the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), and also Samurah ibn Jundub narrated from the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), he said:“Do not live with the polytheists nor associate with them; whoever lives with them or associates with them is considered one of them.”

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) came to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "Who will inherit from you after your death?" He replied: "My family and my children." Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Then why should I not inherit from my father?" Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: 'We (the Prophets) do not leave any inheritance.'" (Then Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said:) "But whatever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to provide for, we will also provide for, and whatever he used to spend on, we will also spend on."
