It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Muawiyah Ghazari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Whoever performs these three deeds will taste the sweetness of faith: Whoever worships only Allah, the One Who is truly worthy of worship; pays Zakat with pleasure in his heart, which is obligatory every year; and does not give a very old, sick, diseased, or inferior animal in Zakat. It should be something moderate and average, because Allah Almighty has neither demanded the best nor commanded the worst.”And in another narration:“He purified his soul.”A man asked: How does one purify the soul? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“A person’s knowing that Allah Almighty is with him wherever he is.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The obligatory worship nor the voluntary worship of three types of people is accepted: the disobedient and ill-mannered, the one who reminds others of his favors, and the one who denies destiny."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Three types of people will be given a double reward: A man who trains his slave-girl in good manners, gives her a good education, then sets her free and marries her; a slave who fulfills the rights of Allah Almighty and the rights of his master; and (a person from the People of the Book) who believes in his own Book and then believes in Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah said: "The Angel of Death used to come to people and they would see him. He came to Musa (peace be upon him) and said: Accept the command of your Lord (and allow your soul to be taken). Musa (peace be upon him) struck him and gouged out his eye. The angel returned to Allah Almighty and said: O my Lord! You have sent me to a servant who does not want to die; he has gouged out my eye (by slapping me). If You had not honored him, I would have dealt harshly with him. Allah Almighty restored his eye and said: Go back to My servant and ask him: Do you wish to live? If you desire, then place your hand on the back of an ox; for every hair that comes under your hand, you will live one year. Musa (peace be upon him), upon hearing this from the angel, said: O my Lord! Then what will happen? The reply came: Then you will die. He said: O my Lord! Give me death now, in such a state that I am at a stone's throw from the holy land. Then he was made to smell a fragrance and his soul was taken. After that, the angel began to come to people in a hidden manner." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah! If I were there, I would show you his grave by the red sand hill."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“The lawful is clear and the unlawful is also clear, and between them are some doubtful matters. It is possible that one who falls into them may fall into sin, and whoever avoids them (the doubtful matters) will safeguard his religion more. The example of one who falls into doubtful matters is like a shepherd who grazes his animals around a sanctuary; it is possible that (the animals) may enter (someone else’s field). Every king has a sanctuary, and the sanctuary of Allah the Exalted is the things He has forbidden.”

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) says: One night I went out and saw that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was walking alone; there was no man with him. I thought perhaps the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) disliked that anyone should walk with him. So I began to walk in the shadow of the moon. He turned towards me, saw me, and asked: "Who is this?" I said: "I am Abu Dharr, may Allah make me your ransom." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Abu Dharr, come here." I went to him and walked with him for a while. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me: "On the Day of Resurrection, those with much wealth will be few in reward, except for the one whom Allah has given wealth and he scattered it to his right, left, front, and back (in charity), and did good deeds with it." Then I continued to walk with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) until he said: "Sit here." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made me sit on a flat piece of land, around which there were stones. Then he said: "Remain seated here until I return." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went towards the Harrah (land of black stones) and disappeared from sight; he stayed there for quite a while. Then I heard him coming, saying: "Even if he steals and commits adultery." When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reached me, I could not restrain myself and said: "O Prophet of Allah! May Allah make me your ransom! Who were you speaking to near the Harrah land? And no one was replying to you." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "That was Jibreel; he met me near the Harrah and said: (O Muhammad!) Give glad tidings to your Ummah that whoever dies without associating anything with Allah will enter Paradise." I said: "Jibreel! Even if he has stolen and committed adultery?" He said: "Yes." I said: "Even if he has stolen and committed adultery?" He said: "Yes." I said: "Even if he steals and commits adultery?" He said: "Yes, and even if he has drunk alcohol."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts in Ramadan, establishes prayer, and performs Hajj to the House of Allah— I do not know whether he (the narrator) mentioned zakat or not— then it is incumbent upon Allah to forgive him, whether he migrated in the way of Allah or remained in his birthplace." Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Should I not convey this hadith to the people?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Leave it, so that they may continue to do more deeds, for there are one hundred levels in Paradise, and between each two levels is a distance like that between the earth and the sky. The highest and most excellent place in Paradise is Firdaus; above it is the Throne of the Most Merciful, and from it the rivers of Paradise flow forth. When you ask Allah, then ask Him for Jannat al-Firdaus."
