Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah Almighty created Adam (peace be upon him), He struck his right shoulder and from there white offspring emerged, as small as tiny ants. Then He struck his left shoulder and black offspring emerged, like coals. Then regarding the offspring from the right side, He said: These will go to Paradise and I do not care. And regarding the offspring from the left shoulder, He said: These will go to Hell and I am unconcerned."

Ibrahim bin Sa’d says: My father told me that he was sitting in the mosque with Humaid bin Abdur Rahman, when a handsome elder from Banu Ghifar, who was somewhat deaf, passed by. Humaid sent for him, and when he came, Humaid said to my father: Make room between me and yourself for this elder to sit, because he is a companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He came and sat between the two of them. Humaid said to him: Which is that hadith which you narrated to me from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say:“Indeed, Allah, the Exalted, creates the clouds, then the clouds speak in a beautiful manner and laugh in a beautiful manner.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah Almighty created the Pen first, held it in His right hand, and both hands of Allah Almighty are right hands. Then He wrote the world, and every good and evil deed done in the world, and every moist and dry thing, and counted all things in the Preserved Tablet with Him. Then He said: If you wish, recite this verse: «هَـذَا كِتَابُنَا يَنْطِقُ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْحَقِّ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَسْتَنْسِخُ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ» 'This is Our Book that speaks against you with truth. Indeed, We were recording what you used to do.' (45 Al-Jathiyah:29) Writing and copying only occur in matters that have already been completed."

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“The Children of Israel appointed a caliph for themselves after Musa (peace be upon him). One day, he began to pray on a moonlit night above Bayt al-Maqdis and recalled the deeds he had performed. Then he left from there and hung himself with a rope. The rope remained hanging in the mosque and he went away from there and reached the seashore to some people who were making unbaked bricks. He asked them, ‘How much do you earn for making these bricks?’ They explained the whole situation. As a result, he also started making bricks and began to live off the earnings of his own hands. When the time for prayer came, he would pray. The workers reported this matter to their chief, saying that a man is doing such and such. He summoned him, but he refused to go to him. This happened three times. Finally, the chief came riding to him. When he saw him coming, he started to run away. The chief chased him, overtook him, and said, ‘Give me enough time so that I may speak with you.’ So he stopped. The chief spoke to him, and he explained the whole situation, saying, ‘I too was a king, but I fled out of fear of my Lord.’ Upon hearing this, the chief said, ‘I think I will also join you.’ Then he followed him, and both of them began to worship Allah Almighty, until they both died at a place called Ramila in Egypt.”Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: If I had been there, I would have recognized their graves by the descriptions which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had mentioned.

Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Since the time Allah Almighty revealed the Torah, He has not destroyed any nation, any race, any community, or any people living in a town on the face of the earth with a heavenly punishment. However, the people of one village were transformed into monkeys.
Rabi’ bin ‘Umaylah says: Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to us such an excellent hadith that we found it beautiful after the Qur’an and the traditions of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“When the time of the Children of Israel was prolonged and their hearts became hardened, they themselves compiled a book which pleased their hearts and was sweet to their tongues, and at that time, the truth was only what revolved around their desires. They threw the Book of Allah behind their backs, as if they knew nothing of it. Then (there came a time when) they said: Present this (self-made) book to the Children of Israel; if they follow you, do not say anything to them, and if they oppose, then kill them. But someone said: No, rather do this: send a message to such-and-such scholar; if he follows you, then after him no one will differ. They sent someone to him and called him. He took a page, wrote the Book of Allah on it, then placed it in a horn, hung it around his neck, put on clothes over it, and came to them. They presented their (fabricated) book to him and said: Do you believe in this? In response, he pointed to his chest, that is, to the book inside the horn, and said: I believe in this; why should I not believe in this? (His intention was the book hidden in the horn, not their self-made book, but they did not understand his words.) In any case, they left him alone. He had some companions who used to sit in his gathering. When he died, they came and removed his clothes, and there they saw a horn in which was a book. Now (they understood the real truth and) said: When this man said, ‘I believe in this book, and why should I not believe in it,’ his intention was the book in the horn (which is the truth). So the Children of Israel split into seventy-three or seventy-four sects; the best among them were those who were the companions and followers of the man with the horn.”

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "There were three men among the Children of Israel: one was afflicted with leprosy (white patches), the second was bald, and the third was blind. Allah Almighty intended to test them, so He sent an angel who first came to the leper and asked him, 'Which thing is most beloved to you?' He replied, 'A good complexion, a beautiful body, and that this disease be removed from me because of which people feel disgusted with me.' The angel passed his hand over his body, and (by Allah's command) his repulsive disease was removed and he was given a beautiful complexion. The angel then asked him, 'Which wealth do you like most?' He replied, 'Camels or cows.' (Ishaq, the narrator, was unsure about this, but it is certain that one of the leper and the bald mentioned camels and the other mentioned cows.) So he was given a pregnant she-camel about to give birth, and the angel prayed for him, 'May Allah bless you in it.'

Then the angel came to the bald man and asked, 'Which thing is most beloved to you?' He said, 'Good hair, and that my (baldness) be removed, because people dislike me because of it.' The angel passed his hand over his body, and his baldness was removed and (by Allah Almighty) he was given beautiful hair. The angel asked him, 'Which wealth do you like most?' He said, 'Cows.' So he was given a pregnant cow and was prayed for, 'May Allah bless you in it.'

After that, the angel came to the blind man and asked him, 'Which thing is most beloved to you?' He said, 'That Allah Almighty restores my eyesight so that I may see people.' The angel passed his hand over him, and Allah Almighty restored his eyesight. The angel asked him, 'Which wealth do you like most?' He said, 'Goats.' So he was given a pregnant goat.

Thus, the previous two (the leper and the bald) also had their animals multiply greatly, and the blind man’s goats also gave birth. So (the leper had) a valley full of camels, the bald man had a valley full of cows, and the blind man had a valley full of goats.

Then the angel came to the leper in his former appearance and form and said, 'I am a poor man, my means have been exhausted in travel, today I have no means to reach my homeland except through Allah Almighty and then through you. Therefore, I ask you, by the One who gave you a good complexion, a beautiful body, and wealth, for a camel so that I may reach my destination in my journey.' He replied, '(I already have) many obligations.' Hearing this, the angel said to him, 'It seems I recognize you. Were you not the one who had white patches on your body, people felt disgusted with you, you were poor, and Allah Almighty granted you wealth?' He said, 'This wealth I inherited from my forefathers.' The angel said, 'If you are lying, may Allah return you to what you were.'

Now the angel came to the bald man in his original form and said to him what he had said to the leper, and the bald man also gave the same reply as the leper, upon which the angel also cursed him, 'If you are lying, may Allah return you to what you were.'

The angel (then) came to the blind man and said, 'I am a poor and traveling man, my means have been exhausted in travel, today I must reach my homeland, and it is not possible without Allah Almighty’s help and then your financial assistance. Therefore, I ask you, by the One who restored your eyesight, for a goat so that I may reach my destination.' The blind man said, 'Indeed, I was blind, Allah Almighty restored my eyesight (before you is a herd of goats, so) take whatever you wish and leave whatever you wish. By Allah! Today, I will not argue with you about whatever you take for Allah’s sake.' Hearing this, the angel said to him, 'Keep your wealth with you, indeed you have been tested (in which you succeeded), so Allah Almighty is pleased with you (and your two companions failed), your Lord is displeased with them.'"
