It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Only three things from Paradise are found on this earth: the date palm tree of Ajwah, the ounces which descend in the Euphrates from the blessings of Paradise, and the Black Stone."

Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and we camped at a place. I heard him say: "Those from my Ummah who will come to me at the Hawd (Pond), you are not even one out of a hundred thousand of them." Zayd bin Arqam was asked: How many were you that day? He said: Seven or eight hundred.

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: «إِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ الْكَوْثَرَ» (108-Al-Kawthar:1) "Indeed, We have granted you Al-Kawthar." And he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Al-Kawthar has been granted to me, it is a river that flows on the surface of the earth without any crack, on its banks are domes of pearls, I struck my hand on its soil and saw that it was extremely fragrant musk, and its pebbles are pearls."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I was walking in Paradise when I reached a river, on whose banks were domes of pearls. I said to the angel: 'O Jibreel! What is this?' He said: 'This is the river Kawthar which Allah Almighty has granted you.'" Then he struck his hand on its soil and (from the place of the soil) extracted musk. "Then «سدرة المنتهى» was brought before me, and I saw a great light near it."

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: What is Al-Kawthar? He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "It is a river in Paradise which Allah, the Exalted, has granted me. Its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. In it are birds whose necks are like the necks of camels." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: They must be very plump birds. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eating them will be even more delightful."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "It is not possible that someone who is being saved from something as (terrifying) as Hell would be asleep, nor is it possible that someone entering a place like Paradise (full of blessings) would be at ease."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If a man dies before the completion of his creation (i.e., in an incomplete state) or after reaching extreme old age, and people are (generally) between these two ages, (in any case, on the Day of Resurrection) he will be raised as a young man of thirty years of age. If he is among the people of Paradise, he will be in the form of Adam (peace be upon him), in the appearance of Yusuf (peace be upon him), and with the heart of Ayyub (peace be upon him). And if he is among the people of Hell, his body will be made as great and massive as a mountain."

Imam Mujahid narrates that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to me: Do you know the vastness of Hell? I said: No. He said: Yes, by Allah! You really do not know. (Listen! The distance) between the earlobe and the shoulder of a person of Hell will be a journey of seventy years, and there will be valleys of pus and blood flowing there. I said: Rivers will be flowing? He said: Not rivers, valleys. Then he said: Do you know the vastness of Hell? I said: No. He said: Yes, by Allah! You really do not know. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that she asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about this verse «وَالْأَرْضُ جَمِيعًا قَبْضَتُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَالسَّمَاوَاتُ مَطْوِيَّاتٌ بِيَمِينِهِ» (39-az-Zumar:67): "And the whole earth will be in His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and all the heavens will be rolled up in His right hand." She asked: O Messenger of Allah! (When this will be the state of the earth and the heavens) where will the people be at that time? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They will be on the bridge of Hell (i.e., the bridge of Sirat) at that time."

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say:“Two men came to me, they took hold of my arm and brought me to a difficult, rugged mountain. They said to me: Climb it. I said: I do not have the strength to climb it. They said: We will make it easy for you. So I began to climb, and when I reached the top of the mountain, I heard extremely loud voices. I asked: What are these voices? They said: This is the screaming and wailing of the people of Hell. Then they took me further, until we reached a place where some people were hanging upside down, their cheeks were being torn apart and blood was flowing from there. I asked: Who are these people? They said: These are the people who used to break their fast before its time. Then he said: The Jews and Christians have failed and are ruined.”The narrator of the hadith, Sulaiman, says: I do not know whether these words (about the Jews and Christians) were narrated by Abu Umamah from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) or if they are his own words.“Then both of them took me further, and I saw some people who were swollen, emitting the worst stench, and presenting an extremely dark sight. I asked: Who are these people? They said: These are the slain disbelievers. Then they went further with me and passed by people who were terribly swollen, emitting the worst stench like that of toilets. I asked: Who are these people? They said: These are the adulterous men and women. Then they took me further, and we passed by women whose breasts were being bitten by snakes. I asked: Who are these women? They said: These are the women who did not breastfeed their children. Then they took me further, and I saw some children playing between two rivers. I asked: Who are these? They said: These are the children of the believers. Then they took me to a high place, and I saw three people drinking wine. I asked: Who are these? They said: These are Ja’far, Zayd, and Ibn Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with them). Then they took me to another elevated place, where we saw three people. I asked: Who are these? They said: These are Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa (peace be upon them), who are waiting for you.”
