Then we came to him another time while he was praying the obligatory prayer sitting, so we prayed behind him standing. He gestured to us to sit down. Do not stand while the imam is sitting, as the Persians do with their great ones."

744/962 (Sahih) From Jabir ibn Abdullah: That the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed through the market entering from some part of al-‘Aliyah—and the people were around him—so he passed by a dead, deformed kid [ميت] , and he took hold of it by its ear, then said: "Which of you would like to have this for a dirham?" They said: We would not like to have it for anything; what would we do with it? He said: "Would you like to have it for yourselves?" They said: No. (He said that to them three times.) They said: No, by Allah! If it were alive, it would be a defect in it that it is deformed (and the deformed is the one without ears), so how about when it is dead? He said: "By Allah, the world is more insignificant to Allah than this is to you."
