707/915-(Hasan li-ghayrihi) From Abdullah ibn al-Sa'ib: That the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in the year of al-Hudaybiyyah, when Uthman ibn Affan mentioned that Suhayl had been sent to him by his people, so they made peace with him, on the condition that he would return from them that year, and leave it for them the following year for three [days] , the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said when he came. It was said: Suhayl has come. He said, "May Allah make your matter easy." And Abdullah ibn al-Sa'ib had met the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.

708/917 (Sahih) From Sahl ibn Sa'd, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If there is any bad omen in anything, it is in the woman, the horse, and the dwelling."

709/918-(Hasan) From Anas ibn Malik who said: A man said: O Messenger of Allah! We were in a house where our numbers were many and our wealth was abundant. Then we moved to another house, and our numbers decreased and our wealth decreased. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "Return it, or leave it, for it is blameworthy." Abu Abdullah said: There is some scrutiny regarding its chain of transmission.

710/919-(Sahih) From Abu Huraira, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Indeed, Allah loves sneezing and dislikes yawning. So if one sneezes and praises Allah, it is a duty upon every Muslim who hears him to respond with a supplication. As for yawning, it is only from Satan [ فإذا تثاءب أحدكم/ 928] , so let him repel it as much as he can. If he says: 'Haah,' Satan laughs at him."

711/921- From Abu Huraira, from the Prophet, peace be upon him, who said: "If one of you sneezes [ أحدكم/927] , let him say: Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah). If he says [الحمد لله] , then his brother or companion should say to him: May Allah have mercy on you. If he says to him: May Allah have mercy on you, then let him say [هو] : May Allah guide you and rectify your condition." Abu Abdullah said: The most authentic narration in this chapter is this hadith.

712/923-(Sahih) From Ibn Mas'ud, from the Prophet, peace be upon him, who said: "Four are due from a Muslim to a Muslim: he visits him when he is sick, attends his funeral when he dies, answers him when he invites, and blesses him when he sneezes."

713/924- (Sahih) From Al-Bara' ibn 'Azib who said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded us with seven things and forbade us from seven. He commanded us to visit the sick, to follow the funerals, to respond to the sneezer, to fulfill the oath, to help the oppressed, to spread peace, and to answer the invitation. And he forbade us from gold rings, silver vessels, Mayathir, Qassiy, Istabraq, Dibaaj, and silk."

714/929-(Authentic chain) From Abu Jamrah who said: I heard Ibn Abbas say, "If you sneeze: May Allah protect us and you from the Fire(1). May Allah have mercy on you."

715/930-(Sahih) From Abu Huraira who said: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when a man sneezed and praised Allah, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him: "May Allah have mercy on you." Then another sneezed, and he did not say anything to him. He said: O Messenger of Allah! You responded to the other but did not say anything to me. He said: "He praised Allah, and you remained silent."

716/931- Narrated Anas: Two men sneezed in the presence of the Prophet, peace be upon him. He said "Yarhamuk Allah" to one of them, but did not say it to the other. The latter said, "You said it to him but did not say it to me?" He said: "This one praised Allah, but you did not praise Him."(1).
