Mishkat al-Masabih
(وَجْبُ ٱلرَّأْفَةِ بِٱلصِّغَارِ وَتَعْظِيمِ ٱلْكِبَارِ)
(Compassion for the young and respect for elders is obligatory)
Hadith Number: 4970
4970 - وعن ابن عباس - رضي الله عنهما - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"ليس منا من لم يرحم صغيرنا، ولم يوقر كبيرنا ، ويامر بالمعروف، وينه عن المنكر". رواه الترمذي، وقال: هذا حديث غريب.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not show mercy to our young ones, does not respect our elders, does not enjoin good, and does not forbid evil, is not from among us." (Tirmidhi), and he said: This hadith is gharib. Its chain is weak. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi.

(مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ ٱلصِّغَارَ لَيْسَ مِنَّا)
(He who does not show mercy to the young is not one of us)
Hadith Number: 4971
4971 - وعن انس - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"ما اكرم شاب شيخا من اجل سنه، إلا قيض الله له عند سنه من يكرمه". رواه الترمذي.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever honors an elderly person because of his old age, Allah will appoint someone to honor him in his old age." Its chain is weak, narrated by al-Tirmidhi.

(ثَلَاثَةُ شُرُوطٍ لِتَعْظِيمِ ٱللَّهِ)
(Three requirements for honoring Allah)
Hadith Number: 4972
4972 - وعن ابي موسى قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"إن من إجلال الله إكرام ذي الشيبة، وحامل القرآن غير الغالي فيه ولا الجافي عنه وإكرام السلطان المقسط". رواه ابو داود، والبيهقي في"شعب الإيمان".
Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Honoring an elderly Muslim, honoring such a memorizer of the Qur'an who does not act with excess, and honoring a just ruler are from the reverence of Allah." Its chain is weak. Narrated by Abu Dawood and Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.

(أَجْرُ ٱلْإِحْسَانِ إِلَى ٱلْيَتِيمِ)
(Reward for kindness to the orphan)
Hadith Number: 4973
4973 - وعن ابي هريرة - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"خير بيت في المسلمين بيت فيه يتيم يحسن إليه ، وشر بيت في المسلمين بيت فيه يتيم يساء إليه". رواه ابن ماجه.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best of the houses among the Muslims is the house in which there is an orphan and he is treated well, and the worst of the houses among the Muslims is the house in which there is an orphan and he is treated badly." Its chain is weak, narrated by Ibn Majah.

(مَنْ يَنَالُ ٱلْحَسَنَةَ عِنْدَ كُلِّ شَعْرَةٍ)
(One who gains goodness for every hair)
Hadith Number: 4974
4974 - وعن ابي امامة - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"من مسح راس يتيم لم يمسحه إلا لله، كان له بكل شعرة تمر عليها يده حسنات ، ومن احسن إلى يتيمة او يتيم عنده كنت انا وهو في الجنة كهاتين"وقرن بين اصبعيه. رواه احمد، والترمذي، وقال: هذا حديث غريب.
Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever, for the sake of Allah’s pleasure, passes his hand over the head of an orphan, then for every hair that his hand passes over, he will receive a good deed. And whoever treats well any orphan boy or girl under his care, he and I will be like this in Paradise." And he joined his two fingers together. (Narrated by Ahmad, Tirmidhi, and he said: This hadith is gharib. Its chain is weak. Also narrated by Ahmad and Tirmidhi.)

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:إسناده ضعيف جدًا
(ثَلَاثَةٌ مُسْتَحِقُّو ٱلْجَنَّةِ)
(Three deserving of Paradise)
Hadith Number: 4975
4975 - وعن ابن عباس - رضي الله عنهما - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"من آوى يتيما إلى طعامه وشرابه اوجب الله له الجنة البتة، إلا ان يعمل ذنبا لا يغفر. ومن عال ثلاث بنات او مثلهن من الاخوات فادبهن ورحمهن حتى يغنيهن الله اوجب الله له الجنة". فقال رجل: يا رسول الله! واثنتين؟ قال:"او اثنتين"حتى لو قالوا: او واحدة؟ لقال: واحدة"ومن اذهب الله بكريمتيه وجبت له الجنة". قيل: يا رسول الله! وما كريمتاه؟ قال:"عيناه". رواه في"شرح السنة".
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever includes an orphan in his food and drink (on his dining spread), Allah makes Paradise obligatory for him, provided he has not committed an unforgivable sin. And whoever takes care of three daughters or as many sisters, gives them good upbringing, shows mercy to them until he fulfills all their needs, Allah makes Paradise obligatory for that person." A man asked: O Messenger of Allah! What about the one who takes care of two? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, even two." Even if he had asked, what about one? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would have said: Even one. "And if Allah takes away two precious things from a person, Paradise becomes obligatory for him." It was asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by two precious things? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "His two eyes." Its chain is weak, narrated in Sharh al-Sunnah.

(تَشْجِيعُ ٱلْوَالِدَيْنِ لِبَنِيهِمْ عَلَى ٱلْخَيْرِ)
(Parents encouraging children towards good)
Hadith Number: 4976
4976 - وعن جابر بن سمرة - رضي الله عنهما - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"لان يؤدب الرجل ولده خير له من ان يتصدق بصاع". رواه الترمذي، وقال: هذا حديث غريب، وناصح الراوي ليس عند اصحاب الحديث بالقوي.
Jabir bin Samurah, may Allah be pleased with him, reports that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A man's good upbringing of his child is better for him than giving a sa’ in charity." Tirmidhi, and he said: This hadith is gharib, and Nasih the narrator is not strong according to the scholars of hadith. Its chain is weak. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi.

(The best gift for children)
Hadith Number: 4977
4977 - وعن ايوب بن موسى، عن ابيه، عن جده، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:"ما نحل والد ولده من نحل افضل من ادب حسن". رواه الترمذي والبيهقي في"شعب الإيمان"وقال الترمذي: هذا عندي حديث مرسل.
Ayub bin Musa narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The best gift parents give to their children is their good upbringing." Tirmidhi, Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman. And Imam Tirmidhi said: In my view, this hadith is mursal. Its chain is weak, narrated by Tirmidhi and Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.

(أَجْرُ ٱلْمَرْأَةِ الَّتِي تُفْنِي شَبَابَهَا مِنْ أَجْلِ أَوْلَادِهَا)
(Reward for a woman who sacrifices her youth for her children)
Hadith Number: 4978
4978 - وعن عوف بن مالك الاشجعي - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"انا وامراة سفعاء الخدين كهاتين يوم القيامة". واوما يزيد بن ذريع إلى الوسطى والسبابة"امراة آمت من زوجها، ذات منصب وجمال، حبست نفسها على يتاماها حتى بانوا او ماتوا". رواه ابو داود.
Auf bin Malik Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I and the woman with a darkened face (the widow whose face has become dark due to hard work) will be like this on the Day of Resurrection." And Yazid bin Zurai' pointed towards his middle finger and index finger. "Also, a woman of status and beauty whose husband passes away and she does not marry because of her orphaned children until they grow up or die." Its chain is weak, narrated by Abu Dawood.

(One who raises a daughter will be in Paradise)
Hadith Number: 4979
4979 - وعن ابن عباس - رضي الله عنهما - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"من كانت له انثى فلم يئدها ولم يهنها، ولم يؤثر ولده عليها - يعني الذكور - ادخله الله الجنة". رواه ابو داود.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has a daughter and does not bury her alive, nor humiliates her, nor prefers his son over her, Allah will admit him to Paradise." Its chain is weak, narrated by Abu Dawood.
