Mishkat al-Masabih
(وَبَالُ ٱلْغِيبَةِ)
(The evil of backbiting)
Hadith Number: 4980
4980 - وعن انس - رضي الله عنه - عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:"من اغتيب عنده اخوه المسلم وهو يقدر على نصره فنصره ، نصره الله في الدنيا والآخرة. فإن لم ينصره وهو يقدر على نصره ; ادركه الله به في الدنيا والآخرة". رواه في"شرح السنة".
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he said: "If someone backbites his Muslim brother in his presence and he is able to support and defend him, and he does so, then Allah will support and defend him in this world and the Hereafter. But if he does not support him despite being able to do so, then Allah will leave him without help in this world and the Hereafter." Weak, even fabricated. Narrated in Sharh al-Sunnah.

(Reward for avoiding backbiting)
Hadith Number: 4981
4981 - وعن اسماء بنت يزيد - رضي الله عنها - قالت: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"من ذب عن لحم اخيه بالمغيبة كان حقا على الله ان يعتقه من النار". رواه البيهقي في"شعب الإيمان".
Asma bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not allow his (Muslim) brother to be backbitten in his absence, it is a right upon Allah to free him from the fire of Hell." Its chain is Hasan. Narrated by Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:إسناده حسن
(مَنْ يَحْفَظُ كَرَامَةَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِ يَتَحَرَّرُ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ)
(Freedom from Hell for protecting a Muslim’s honor)
Hadith Number: 4982
4982 - وعن ابي الدرداء - رضي الله عنه - قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول:"ما من مسلم يرد عن عرض اخيه إلا كان حقا على الله ان يرد عنه نار جهنم يوم القيامة". ثم تلا هذه الآية: وكان حقا علينا نصر المؤمنين. رواه في"شرح السنة".
Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever defends the honor of his Muslim brother, it is incumbent upon Allah to defend him from Hell on the Day of Resurrection." Then he recited this verse: "Helping the believers is incumbent upon Us." Its chain is weak, narrated in Sharh al-Sunnah.

(خِدْمَةُ فِي ٱلْحُرْمَةِ وَٱلْكَرَامَةِ)
(Special help for one who assists in honor and dignity)
Hadith Number: 4983
4983 - وعن جابر - رضي الله عنه - ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:"ما من امرئ مسلم يخذل امرا مسلما في موضع ينتهك فيه حرمته، وينتقص فيه من عرضه إلا خذله الله تعالى في موطن يحب فيه نصرته، وما من امرئ مسلم ينصر مسلما في موضع ينتقص فيه من عرضه، وينتهك فيه من حرمته إلا نصره الله في موطن يحب فيه نصرته". رواه ابو داود.
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever abandons a Muslim in a place where his honor and dignity are being violated, Allah will abandon him in a place where he will be in need of help. And whoever helps a Muslim in a place where his honor and dignity are being violated, Allah will help him in a place where he would like to be helped." Its chain is weak. Narrated by Abu Dawood.

(إِسْتِتَارُ عُيُوبِ أَخِيكَ الْمُسْلِمِ)
(Covering a Muslim brother’s faults)
Hadith Number: 4984
4984 - وعن عقبة بن عامر - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"من راى عورة فسترها كان كمن احيا موءودة". رواه احمد، والترمذي وصححه.
Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever sees a fault (of someone) and conceals it, he is like the one who brings a buried-alive person back to life." Ahmad, Tirmidhi, and they declared it authentic. Hasan, narrated by Ahmad and Tirmidhi.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:حسن
(مَنْ يَسْتُرُ ٱلْعُيُوبَ كَمَنْ يُحْيِي مَيِّتًا حَيًّا)
(He who covers faults is like reviving a buried alive)
Hadith Number: 4985
4985 - وعن ابي هريرة - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"إن احدكم مرآة اخيه، فإن راى به اذى فليمط عنه". رواه الترمذي وضعفه. وفي رواية له ولابي داود:"المؤمن مرآة المؤمن، والمؤمن اخو المؤمن، يكف عنه ضيعته، ويحوطه من ورائه".
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, each one of you is a mirror to his (Muslim) brother; if he sees any fault in him, he should remove it from him." __REF_N__ Tirmidhi, and he has declared it weak. In the narration of Tirmidhi and Abu Dawood: "A believer is a mirror to another believer, and a believer is the brother of another believer; he does not let him suffer loss and he protects him (his life, wealth, and honor) in his absence." __REF_N__ Weak Jaza, narrated by Tirmidhi. Hasan, narrated by Abu Dawood.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:ضعيف جدًا
(يُوَقَّفُ عَلَى صِرَاطٍ بِسَبَبِ ٱلْعُيُوبِ)
(Stopped on the Sirat bridge due to fault-finding)
Hadith Number: 4986
4986 - وعن معاذ بن انس - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"من حمى مؤمنا من منافق بعث الله ملكا يحمي لحمه يوم القيامة من نار جهنم، ومن رمى مسلما بشيء يريد به شينه حبسه الله على جسر جهنم حتى يخرج مما قال". رواه ابو داود.
Mu’adh bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Whoever protects the honor of a believer from a hypocrite, Allah will send an angel who will protect his flesh from the fire of Hell on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever accuses a Muslim of something in order to disgrace him, Allah will detain him on the Bridge of Hell until he is cleared of what he said.”Its chain is weak. Narrated by Abu Dawood.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:إسناده ضعيف
(مَنْ هُوَ الصَّاحِبُ الْخَيْرُ وَالْجَارُ الْحَسَنُ؟)
(Who is the better companion and good neighbor?)
Hadith Number: 4987
4987 - وعن عبد الله بن عمرو - رضي الله عنهما - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"خير الاصحاب عند الله خيرهم لصاحبه، وخير الجيران عند الله خيرهم لجاره". رواه الترمذي، والدارمي، وقال الترمذي: هذا حديث حسن غريب.
Abdullah bin Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, reports that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The best companion in the sight of Allah is the one who is best to his companion, and the best neighbor in the sight of Allah is the one who is best to his neighbor." Tirmidhi, Darimi, and Tirmidhi said: This hadith is hasan ghareeb. Its chain is authentic. Narrated by Tirmidhi and Darimi.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:إسناده صحيح
(أَهَمِّيَّةُ شَهَادَةِ ٱلْجَارِ)
(Importance of neighbor’s testimony)
Hadith Number: 4988
4988 - وعن ابن مسعود - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رجل للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: يا رسول الله! كيف لي ان اعلم إذا احسنت او إذا اسات؟ فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم:"إذا سمعت جيرانك يقولون: قد احسنت؟ فقد احسنت، وإذا سمعتهم يقولون: قد اسات فقد اسات"رواه ابن ماجه.
Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! How will I know whether I am good or bad? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When you hear your neighbors saying that you are good, then you are good, and when you hear them saying that you are bad, then you are bad." Its chain is authentic, narrated by Ibn Majah.

(تَعَامَلْ مَعَ النَّاسِ حَسَبَ مَرْتَبَتِهِمْ)
(Deal with people according to their rank)
Hadith Number: 4989
4989 - وعن عائشة - رضي الله عنها - ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:"انزلوا الناس منازلهم"رواه ابو داود.
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Treat people according to their status and rank." Its chain of narration is weak, narrated by Abu Dawood.

٭ حبيب بن أبي ثابت و سفيان الثوري مدلسان و عنعنا و السند منقطع، ولعله أشار مسلم في مقدمة صحيحه إلي ضعفه لأنه ذکره بصيغة التمريض. والله أعلم»
