Mishkat al-Masabih
(هَلْ تَنْتَظِرُونَ تِلْكَ الأَشْيَاءَ؟)
(Are you waiting for those things?)
Hadith Number: 5175
5175 - وعن ابي هريرة - رضي الله عنه - عن النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قال:"ما ينتظر احدكم إلا غنى مطغيا ، او فقرا منسيا، او مرضا مفسدا، او هرما مفسدا، او موتا مجهزا، او الدجال، فالدجال شر غائب ينتظر، او الساعة، والساعة ادهى وامر"رواه الترمذي والنسائي.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Does any one of you await overwhelming wealth, or poverty that makes one forget (obedience and worship), or a disease that ruins, or old age that brings senseless talk, or sudden death, or the Dajjal—for the Dajjal is the worst awaited hidden trial—or the Hour, and the Hour is the greatest calamity and the most bitter thing." Its chain is weak. It was narrated by al-Tirmidhi and al-Nasa'i.

(Getting lost in the world is not wisdom)
Hadith Number: 5176
5176 - وعنه ان رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قال:"الا إن الدنيا ملعونة ملعون ما فيها، إلا ذكر الله وما والاه، وعالم او متعلم". رواه الترمذي، وابن ماجه.
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Behold! The world and whatever is in it are all accursed, except for the remembrance of Allah, the deeds beloved to Allah, and the scholar and the learner." Its chain is good. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah.

(مَكَانَةُ الدُّنْيَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى)
(The status of the world in the sight of Allah Almighty)
Hadith Number: 5177
5177 - وعن سهل بن سعد - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"لو كانت الدنيا تعدل عند الله جناح بعوضة ما سقى كافرا منها شربة ماء"رواه احمد، والترمذي، وابن ماجه.
Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“If the world (in importance) was worth even the wing of a mosquito in the sight of Allah, He would not have given a disbeliever even a sip of water from it.”Its chain is weak. Narrated by Ahmad, al-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah.

(Do not choose“wastefulness”)
Hadith Number: 5178
5178 - وعن ابن مسعود - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"لا تتخذوا الضيعة فترغبوا في الدنيا". رواه الترمذي، والبيهقي في (شعب الإيمان).
Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not establish estates, otherwise you will become engrossed in the world." Hasan, narrated by Tirmidhi and Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.

(بَيَانُ حُبِّ الدُّنْيَا أَوِ الآخِرَةِ)
(Description of loving the world or the Hereafter)
Hadith Number: 5179
5179 - وعن ابي موسى - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"من احب دنياه اضر بآخرته ، ومن احب آخرته اضر بدنياه، فآثروا ما يبقى على ما يفنى". رواه احمد، والبيهقي في (شعب الإيمان).
Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever prefers the world has harmed his Hereafter, and whoever prefers the Hereafter has harmed his world. So give preference to that which is everlasting over that which is perishable." Its chain is weak. Narrated by Ahmad and Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.

(Curse on the slave of dinar and dirham)
Hadith Number: 5180
5180 - وعن ابي هريرة - رضي الله عنه عن النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قال:"لعن عبد الدينار ولعن عبد الدرهم". رواه الترمذي.
Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "Cursed is the slave of the dirham and dinar." Its chain is weak; narrated by al-Tirmidhi.

(Disputes over the world and greed for wealth)
Hadith Number: 5181
5181 - وعن كعب بن مالك - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"ما ذئبان جائعان ارسلا في غنم بافسد لها من حرص المرء على المال والشرف لدينه"رواه الترمذي، والدارمي.
Ka'b bin Malik narrates from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Two hungry wolves left among a flock of sheep do not cause as much harm to them as a man's greed for wealth and status does to his religion." Hasan, narrated by al-Tirmidhi and al-Darimi.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:حسن
(لَا ثَوَابَ عَلَى التَّعْمِيرِ غَيْرِ الضَّرُورِيِّ)
(No reward for unnecessary construction)
Hadith Number: 5182
5182 - وعن خباب - رضي الله عنه - عن رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قال:"ما انفق مؤمن من نفقة إلا اجر فيها، إلا نفقته في هذا التراب"رواه الترمذي، وابن ماجه.
Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whatever a believer spends, he is rewarded for it, except for what he spends on this soil (beyond necessity), for which he is not rewarded." Sahih, narrated by al-Tirmidhi.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:صحيح
(لَا خَيْرَ فِي نَفَقَاتِ الأَعْمَالِ التَّعْمِيرِيَّةِ)
(No good in spending on construction works)
Hadith Number: 5183
5183 - وعن انس - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"النفقة كلها في سبيل الله إلا البناء فلا خير فيه". رواه الترمذي، وقال: هذا حديث غريب.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "All spending in the way of Allah is rewarded except for construction; there is no good in spending on it." (Tirmidhi), and he said this hadith is gharib. Its chain is weak. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:إسناده ضعيف
(غَضَبُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى بِنَاءِ مَسْكَنٍ زَائِدٍ عَنِ الحَاجَةِ)
(Displeasure of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, over building excessive housing)
Hadith Number: 5184
5184 - وعنه ان رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - خرج يوما ونحن معه، فراى قبة مشرفة، فقال"ما هذه؟"قال اصحابه: هذه لفلان رجل من الانصار، فسكت وحملها في نفسه، حتى إذا جاء صاحبها، فسلم عليه الناس فاعرض عنه، صنع ذلك مرارا حتى عرف الرجل الغضب فيه والإعراض عنه، فشكا ذلك إلى اصحابه وقال: والله إني لانكر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. قالوا: خرج فراى قبتك. فرجع الرجل إلى قبته فهدمها حتى سواها بالارض. فخرج رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - ذات يوم، فلم يرها، قال:"ما فعلت القبة؟"قالوا: شكا إلينا صاحبها إعراضك، فاخبرناه، فهدمها. فقال:"اما إن كل بناء وبال على صاحبه إلا ما لا ، إلا ما لا"يعني إلا ما لا بد منه. رواه ابو داود.
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out one day and we were with him. He saw a tall dome and said: "What is this?" His companions replied, "It belongs to an Ansari man." The Prophet remained silent and kept it in his heart until its owner came and greeted the Prophet in the presence of the people, but the Prophet turned away from him. He did this several times until the man recognized the Prophet’s displeasure and estrangement towards him. He asked his companions about the reason and said, "By Allah! I feel that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is angry with me, but I do not know the reason." They told him, "You came out and saw your dome." The man went to his dome, demolished it, and leveled it with the ground. Then one day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and did not see the dome. He asked, "What happened to the dome?" The companions replied, "Its owner asked us the reason for your estrangement, so we told him, and he demolished it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Listen! Every building which is not essential is a burden for its owner." Its chain is authentic. Narrated by Abu Dawood.
