It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes fast so continuously that we would say, "Now the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) will not leave any fast," and sometimes he would break his fast so continuously that we would say, "Now the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) will not keep any fast."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to review the Noble Qur’an with Jibreel (peace be upon him) every Ramadan. On the night when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite the Qur’an to Jibreel (peace be upon him), on the morning after that, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would become more generous than the fast-blowing wind, and whatever was asked from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he would grant it. In the year in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away after Ramadan, he (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the Noble Qur’an to Jibreel (peace be upon him) twice that year.

Ikrimah says that once I saw a man who entered the mosque and started praying while standing; he would say the takbeer while raising his head, bowing, and rising from the two rak'ahs. Finding this strange, I mentioned this incident to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them). Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "May your mother lose you! Was not the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) like this?"

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out towards the mosque, and while pointing with his hand, he kept saying: "Whoever grants respite to a destitute debtor or forgives him, Allah will protect him from the heat of Hell. Beware! The deeds of Paradise are as hard as a hill, and the deeds of Hell are as easy as a soft bow. Fortunate is the person who remains safe from trials, and there is no gulp more beloved to me than the gulp of anger which a person swallows. Whoever swallows his anger for the sake of Allah, Allah will fill his heart with faith."
