Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I was sitting with Zaid bin Ali in Madinah Munawwarah, when an elderly man named Abu Saeed Shurahbeel passed by. Zaid asked him: O Abu Saeed! Where are you coming from? He said: From the Commander of the Faithful. I narrated a hadith to him; if this hadith is true, then to me it is better than red camels. He said: Tell this hadith to the people as well. He said: I heard Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) saying that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has two daughters and treats them well as long as they stay with him, he will enter Paradise by virtue of them."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most generous of all people, and he was even more generous in the month of Ramadan when Jibreel (peace be upon him) would meet him. Every night of Ramadan, Jibreel (peace be upon him) would review the Noble Qur'an with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). On the morning after the night when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite the Qur'an to Jibreel (peace be upon him), he would become more generous than the fast-blowing wind.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that before the pulpit was made, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver the sermon leaning against the trunk of a date-palm tree. When the pulpit was made and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) moved towards the pulpit, that trunk began to weep out of grief at being separated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) embraced it to his chest and calmed it, so it became tranquil. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I had not calmed it, it would have continued to weep until the Day of Resurrection."
