Hadith Number: 3434
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding the interpretation of the Qur’anic verse: «﴿فَإِنْ جَاءُوكَ فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ أَوْ أَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ . . . . .﴾ [المائدة: 42] » “If they come to you, you have the option either to judge between them or to turn them away, . . . . .”that if the people of Banu Nadir killed a man from Banu Qurayza, they would pay them half the blood money, and if the people of Banu Qurayza killed a man from Banu Nadir, they would be forced to pay the full blood money. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) established equal blood money between the two tribes.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat from the edges of the bowl (vessel), and do not eat from the middle, for indeed, blessing descends in the middle of the food (and spreads to all sides)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) referred to a decision of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the issue of killing a fetus, when Sayyiduna Haml bin Malik bin Nabighah (may Allah be pleased with him) came and said: Once I was between two women, one of whom struck the other with a rolling pin or the pole of a tent, due to which the woman and the child in her womb both died. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) decided regarding this that“for the child in her womb, a slave should be given to the heirs of the murdered woman, and for the woman, the woman (who struck) should be killed.”The narrator says: I said to Amr that Ibn Tawus narrated this hadith to me from his father in a different way? It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Abu Wadi’ah—whose name was Khidham—married his daughter to a man. His daughter came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and complained that her marriage was being forced with a certain man.
In the same narration from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), with a different chain of transmission, this addition is also reported: After some time, that woman came again to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him that her new husband had touched her (therefore she now wished to remarry her first husband). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prevented her from returning to her first husband (because consummation with the second husband is the condition, not merely touching), and said: "O Allah! If her oath makes her lawful for Rifa‘ah, then her marriage will not be completed a second time." Then, during the caliphates of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna ‘Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him), she came to both of them seeking permission to return to her first husband, but both of them also prevented her.
