It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray two rak'ahs during travel and four rak'ahs during residence. Therefore, whoever prays four rak'ahs during travel is like someone who prays two rak'ahs during residence. He also said that the shortening of the prayer happened only once, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led two rak'ahs, which the Mujahideen performed as one rak'ah each, following the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in congregation.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the woman who joins hair and the one for whom it is done, and the men who become effeminate, and the women who imitate men.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from the plain of Arafat, a group of people began to move ahead quickly. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed a person to announce: "O people! Speeding up horses and mounts is not an act of virtue." Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that after that, I did not see any mount stretching out its hand (i.e., moving quickly) until we reached Muzdalifah.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the occasion of the Day of Arafah, Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) was riding behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). It is narrated from Sayyiduna Fadl (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, a woman from the tribe of Khath'am came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), while Sayyiduna Fadl (may Allah be pleased with him) was riding behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). She said: "O Messenger of Allah! The obligation of Hajj has been imposed by Allah upon my father, but he has become so old that he cannot even sit on a mount. If I perform Hajj on his behalf, will it be fulfilled?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Yes!"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a Jew passed by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was sitting, and said, "O Abul Qasim! What do you say about the day when Allah will lift the sky on this finger of His," and he pointed to his index finger, "the earth on this finger, the water on this finger, the mountains on this finger, and all creatures on this finger?" And each time he kept pointing to his fingers. Upon this, the following verse was revealed: «﴿وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللّٰهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ﴾ [الأنعام: 91] » "They did not appraise Allah with true appraisal as is His due."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that one day when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up in the morning, it was found that the army had no water. So a man came and said: O Messenger of Allah! The army has no water. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "Do you have a little water?" He said: Yes! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring it to me." After a short while, he brought a vessel in which there was very little water. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his fingers on the mouth of the vessel and spread them. Immediately, springs began to gush forth from the fingers of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to "announce among the people that they should come and take the blessed water."

Abdullah bin Shaqiq (may Allah have mercy on him) says that one day after Asr, Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) gave us a sermon until the sun set and the stars began to appear. People started calling out, "Prayer, prayer!" At that time, there was also a man from Banu Tamim among the people, and he began to loudly say, "Prayer, prayer!" This made Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) angry, and he said: "Do you want to teach me the Sunnah? I have seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) combine (Salat) between Dhuhr and Asr, and between Maghrib and Isha, a 'combining in form' (jam' suwari)." The narrator of the hadith, Abdullah, says that I felt some doubt about this in my heart, so I met Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked him about this issue, and he also agreed with it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the verse of debt was revealed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The first to deny something out of forgetfulness and unawareness was Adam (peace be upon him), and its detail is as follows: When Allah Almighty created Adam (peace be upon him), after some time He passed His hand over his back and brought forth all his progeny that would exist until the Day of Resurrection, and began to present his offspring before him. Adam (peace be upon him) saw among them a man whose complexion was radiant. He asked: 'O Lord! Who is this?' Allah said: 'This is your son Dawud (David).' He asked: 'O Lord! How long is his lifespan?' Allah said: 'Sixty years.' He said: 'O Lord! Increase his lifespan.' Allah said: 'That is not possible, but it is possible that I reduce some years from your lifespan and add them to his.' The lifespan of Adam (peace be upon him) was one thousand years. Allah took forty years from it and added forty years to the lifespan of Dawud (peace be upon him), and wrote this matter down and made the angels witnesses to it. When the time of Adam’s (peace be upon him) death approached and the angels came to seize his soul, Adam (peace be upon him) said: 'Forty years of my life still remain.' He was told: 'You have already given those forty years to your son Dawud.' But he said: 'I did not do so.' Thereupon Allah presented that written document before him and the angels testified to it."
