Chapter: What Should Be Said When A Person Exits The Toilet In Which He Relieved Himself.
Hadith Number: 30
حدثنا عمرو بن محمد الناقد، حدثنا هاشم بن القاسم، حدثنا إسرائيل، عن يوسف بن ابي بردة، عن ابيه، حدثتني عائشة رضي الله عنها،" ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان إذا خرج من الغائط، قال: غفرانك".
Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: When the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم came out of the privy, he used to say: "Grant me Thy forgiveness. "
قال الشيخ الألباني: صحيح

Benefits & Rulings:
In addition, there are other supplications reported as well, but this particular hadith and supplication is stronger in terms of its chain of narration compared to the others.
Imam al-Khattabi (may Allah have mercy on him) explained the wisdom behind this supplication by stating that since this time passes without the remembrance of Allah, one has been taught to seek forgiveness (Istighfar) during it.
