It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Hazrat Hilal bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) accused his wife of committing adultery with Shareek bin Samha. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take care of this woman. If she gives birth to a child with curly hair, black eyes, and thin shins, then the child will be that of Shareek bin Samha. But if she gives birth to a fair-skinned child with straight hair and deep-set eyes, then the child will be that of Hilal bin Umayyah. So, when the woman gave birth, the child had the first set of characteristics (i.e., those of Shareek bin Samha).

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When two Muslims meet and one of them holds the hands of the other, it is incumbent upon Allah to be present at the time of their supplication, and before their hands are separated, He forgives them both.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a group gathers together to remember Allah, and their only purpose is to seek Allah’s pleasure, then a caller calls out from the heavens: You are standing in such a state that your sins have been forgiven, and I have replaced your sins with good deeds.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In times past, three men were traveling when it began to rain. The three of them took shelter in a cave on a mountain. A rock fell from above and blocked the entrance of the cave. They said to one another, "The rock has fallen, the traces of our footsteps have disappeared, and no one knows of our presence here except Allah. Therefore, let each person present before Allah a deed of truthfulness that he has done, and pray to Allah."

One of them said, "O Allah! You know that my parents were very old, and I used to give them milk from my goats every evening. One day, I was delayed (in returning from the forest), and when I arrived, they had already fallen asleep. My wife and children were crying from hunger, but it was my habit that I would not give them (the milk) until my parents had drunk first. (So I was greatly perplexed.) I did not think it appropriate to wake them, nor did I think it good to leave them as they were, lest they become weak from not eating. So I stood waiting for them to wake up until morning. O Allah! If in Your knowledge this action of mine was done out of fear of You, then remove this calamity from us." The rock opened up about one third.

The second person said, "O Allah! You know that a laborer worked for me for eight seers of rice as his wage, but after working, he left his wage and went away. I took that measure of rice and sowed it, and as a result, I bought cows and oxen from its yield. After some days, that man came to me asking for his wage. I said, 'Take these cows and oxen.' He said, 'I am owed only a measure of rice by you.' I replied, 'Take these cows and oxen; they have been obtained through those very grains of rice.' O Allah! If in Your knowledge I did this only out of fear of You, then remove this calamity from us." By the blessing of his prayer, the rock opened up about two thirds.

The third person said, "O Allah! You know that there was a woman who was the most beloved to me. When she gave herself into my control, I immediately stood up and left her, and I left behind a hundred dinars. O Allah! If this action of mine was done only out of fear of You, then remove this calamity from us." So the rock moved away, and they came out and began to walk about.

Bahz narrated to us, Abu Awanah narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Anas, that three men set out, and he mentioned its meaning, but did not attribute it as a marfu’ (directly to the Prophet).

Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that (since) we were forbidden in the Qur'an from asking the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) too many questions, we used to wish in our hearts that some intelligent Bedouin would come and ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about some issue and we would listen. So (once) a Bedouin came and (presented himself before the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and) said: "Your messenger came to us and said that you claim Allah has made you a Prophet?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He spoke the truth." The Bedouin said: "Who created the heavens, the earth, and the mountains?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah did." The Bedouin said: "I ask you by the One who created the heavens and the earth and established the mountains (tell me), has Allah really sent you as a Messenger?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes!" The Bedouin said: "Your messenger says that five prayers are obligatory upon us in the day and night." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He spoke the truth." The Bedouin said: "I ask you by Allah, the One who sent you as a Messenger (tell me), did Allah command you this?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes!" The Bedouin said: "Your messenger said that zakat is obligatory upon our wealth?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He spoke the truth." He said: "By the One who sent you, did He command you this?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes!" He said: "Your messenger also said that fasting for one month in the year is obligatory upon us?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He spoke the truth." The Bedouin said: "I ask you by Allah, the One who made you a Prophet (tell me), did Allah command you this?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes!" The Bedouin said: "Your messenger also said that Hajj to the Ka'bah is obligatory upon those among us who are able?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He spoke the truth!" Finally, as the Bedouin turned to leave, he said: "By Allah, the One who sent you with the truth, I will not add to this nor subtract from it at all." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If he is truthful, he will enter Paradise."

Once, Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to a woman of his household, "Do you know such-and-such woman?" Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by her while she was weeping at a grave. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her, "Fear Allah and be patient." She replied, "Stay away from me, you do not know what calamity has befallen me." She did not recognize the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Later, someone told her that it was the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Upon hearing this, she was overwhelmed and immediately came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). There she saw no doorkeeper and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I did not recognize you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Patience is at the first stroke of calamity."
