حَدِیث عقبَةَ بنِ عَامِر الجهَنِیِّ عَنِ النَّبِیِّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَیهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Hadith of Uqbah ibn Amir Al-Juhani from the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith Number: 17406
حدثنا ابو عبد الرحمن ، حدثنا حيوة ، اخبرنا بكر بن عمرو ، ان مشرح بن هاعان اخبره، انه سمع عقبة بن عامر ، يقول: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول: " اهل اليمن ارق قلوبا، والين افئدة، وانجع طاعة" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: The people of Yemen are tender-hearted, soft-hearted, and very obedient.
حكم دارالسلام: صحيح لغيره دون قوله: «وأنجع طاعة» ، وهذا إسناد حسن
Hadith Number: 17407
حدثنا ابو عبد الرحمن ، حدثنا حيوة ، اخبرني بكر بن عمرو ، ان شعيب بن زرعة اخبره، قال: حدثني عقبة بن عامر الجهني ، انه سمع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول لاصحابه: " لا تخيفوا انفسكم او قال: الانفس" فقيل له: يا رسول الله، وما نخيف انفسنا؟ قال:" الدين" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not put yourself in danger after being in peace. The people asked, O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) How is that? He said: By taking a loan.
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده ضعيف
Hadith Number: 17408
حدثنا ابو عبد الرحمن ، حدثنا موسى بن علي ، قال: سمعت ابي ، يقول: سمعت عقبة بن عامر الجهني ، يقول: خرج علينا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يوما ونحن في الصفة، فقال:" ايكم يحب ان يغدو إلى بطحان او العقيق، فياتي كل يوم بناقتين كوماوين زهراوين، فياخذهما في غير إثم ولا قطع رحم؟" قال: قلنا: كلنا يا رسول الله يحب ذلك، قال: " فلان يغدو احدكم إلى المسجد، فيتعلم آيتين من كتاب الله، خير له من ناقتين، وثلاث خير من ثلاث، واربع خير من اربع، ومن اعدادهن من الإبل" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were sitting on the platform (Suffah) when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came there and said: "Which one of you would like to go to the place of Bathan or Aqeeq and bring back every day two large, humped, and bright-foreheaded she-camels without committing any sin or severing ties of kinship?" We said, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) each one of us would like that." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If any one of you goes to the mosque and learns two verses from the Book of Allah, it is better for him than those two she-camels. Learning three verses is better than three she-camels, and learning four verses is better than four she-camels, and so on, increasing in number of verses and camels."

Hadith Number: 17409
حدثنا ابو عبد الرحمن ، حدثنا ابن لهيعة ، حدثني مشرح بن هاعان ابو المصعب المعافري ، قال: سمعت عقبة بن عامر الجهني، يقول: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول: " لو ان القرآن في إهاب، ثم القي في النار، ما احترق" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If the Noble Qur'an is wrapped in any leather and thrown into the fire, the fire will not burn it.
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده ضعيف لسوء حفظ ابن لهيعة، وهو لم يرفع هذا الحديث إلا فى آخر عمره، وذلك حين اختلط، أحاديث مشرح بن هاعان عن عقبة مناكير
Hadith Number: 17410
حدثنا ابو عبد الرحمن ، حدثنا ابن لهيعة ، حدثني ابو المصعب ، قال: سمعت عقبة ، يقول: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول: " اكثر منافقي هذه الامة قراؤها" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Most of the hypocrites of my Ummah will be among the reciters (Qurra).
حكم دارالسلام: حسن لغيره، وهذا إسناد حسن فى المتابعات والشواهد، أبو عبدالرحمن سمع من ابن لهيعة قبل احتراق كتبه
Hadith Number: 17411
حدثنا ابو سلمة الخزاعي ، حدثنا الوليد بن المغيرة ، حدثنا مشرح بن هاعان ، عن عقبة بن عامر ، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، انه كان يقول: " إن اكثر منافقي هذه الامة لقراؤها" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Most of the hypocrites of my Ummah will be among the reciters (Qurra).

Hadith Number: 17412
حدثنا ابو عبد الرحمن ، حدثنا ابن لهيعة ، عن مشرح بن هاعان ، عن عقبة بن عامر ، قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، افضلت سورة الحج على القرآن بان جعل فيها سجدتان؟ فقال: " نعم، ومن لم يسجدهما فلا يقراهما" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I submitted in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) Is this virtue unique to Surah Al-Hajj in the entire Qur'an that it contains two prostrations?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes! And whoever does not perform both prostrations, it is as if he has not recited this Surah at all."
حكم دارالسلام: حسن بطرقه وشواهده دون قوله: «ومن لم يسجدهما فلا يقرأهما» ، وهذا الإسناد ضعيف، حديث مشرح عن عقبة خاصة مقال
Hadith Number: 17413
حدثنا ابو عبد الرحمن ، حدثنا ابن لهيعة ، حدثني مشرح بن هاعان ، قال: سمعت عقبة بن عامر ، يقول: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول: " اسلم الناس، وآمن عمرو بن العاصي" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "The people have accepted Islam, and Amr bin Aas has brought faith."
حكم دارالسلام: حديث محتمل للتحسين
Hadith Number: 17414
حدثنا ابو عبد الرحمن ، حدثنا موسى يعني ابن ايوب الغافقي ، حدثني عمي إياس بن عامر ، قال: سمعت عقبة بن عامر الجهني، يقول: لما نزلت فسبح باسم ربك العظيم قال لنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " اجعلوها في ركوعكم"، فلما نزلت سبح اسم ربك الاعلى قال:" اجعلوها في سجودكم" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when this blessed verse "Fasabbih bismi rabbikal azeem" was revealed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Include it in your bowing (ruku')" (that is why 'Subhana Rabbiyal Azeem' is said in ruku'). And when "Sabbih isma rabbikal a'la" was revealed, he said: "Include it in your prostration (sajdah)" (that is why 'Subhana Rabbiyal A'la' is said in sajdah).

Hadith Number: 17415
حدثنا ابو عبد الرحمن ، حدثنا ابن لهيعة ، عن ابي قبيل ، قال: لم اسمع من عقبة بن عامر إلا هذا الحديث. قال ابن لهيعة : وحدثنيه يزيد بن ابي حبيب ، عن ابي الخير ، عن عقبة بن عامر الجهني ، قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول: " هلاك امتي في الكتاب واللبن"، قالوا: يا رسول الله، ما الكتاب واللبن؟ قال:" يتعلمون القرآن فيتاولونه على غير ما انزل الله عز وجل، ويحبون اللبن فيدعون الجماعات والجمع ويبدون" .
It is narrated with a chain from Abu Qabeel that I have heard only the following hadith from Hazrat Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him). It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: I fear for my ummah regarding the Book and milk. Someone asked, O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) What is meant by the danger of the Book and milk? He replied: The hypocrites will learn it and will argue with the believers, and they will love milk and because of it will leave the congregation and will abandon the Friday prayers.
