It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I presented myself in the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was sitting in the shade of the Ka'bah. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said twice, "By the Lord of the Ka'bah! Those people are in loss." A severe grief overtook me and as I tried to compose myself, I thought perhaps something new had happened concerning me. So I asked, "Who are those people? May my parents be sacrificed for you." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The wealthy, except for the one who distributes (his wealth) among the servants of Allah in such and such a way, but such people are very few. Whoever dies leaving behind goats, camels, or cows on which he did not pay zakat, they will come on the Day of Judgment healthier than before and will trample him with their hooves and gore him with their horns, until judgment is passed among the people. Then one animal after another will continue to come."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once at the time of sunset, I was in the mosque with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Abu Dharr! Do you know where this sun goes?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "It goes and prostrates before its Lord, then seeks permission to return, which is granted to it. When it is said to it, 'Return to where you came from,' it returns to its rising place, and that is its resting place." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "The sun runs on its fixed course."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon when a hard-natured Bedouin stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Famine will consume us." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I fear another thing for you regarding yourselves: when the world will be poured upon you. I wish that at that time my Ummah would not wear gold jewelry."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are three types of people whom Allah loves, and three types of people whom Allah dislikes. Among those whom Allah loves is the man who meets the enemy with a group and stands firm before them until he is martyred or his companions are granted victory; secondly, those people who set out on a journey, their journey becomes long, and they wish to camp in some area in the evening, so when they camp, one of them moves aside and starts praying until, when it is time to depart, he wakes them up; and thirdly, the man who has such a neighbor from whose proximity he suffers harm, but he bears his harm with patience until death separates them. I asked: Who are those people whom Allah dislikes? He replied: The trader who swears oaths, the miser who boasts of his favors, and the poor man who is arrogant.

And whoever commits a sin, its recompense will be equal to it, or I may forgive him.
