Narration of breaking idols and splitting the moon at the conquest of Makkah
Hadith Number: 86
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah, there were three hundred and sixty (360) idols placed around the Ka'bah. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began striking them with the stick he held in his blessed hand, and he kept reciting: "Truth has come, and falsehood neither creates anything nor restores it." (He also recited:) "Truth has come, and falsehood has vanished; indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish."

Breaking idols at the conquest of Makkah
Hadith Number: M86
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the moon was split into two parts, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Bear witness, bear witness." Humaydi (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Sufyan narrated this, and Ibn Abu Najih conveyed these two narrations to us from Abu Ma'mar.

Discussion about Allah’s hearing near the Kaaba
Hadith Number: 87
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Three men gathered near the Ka'bah; two of them were from the Quraysh and one was from the Thaqif tribe, or two were from the Thaqif tribe and one was from the Quraysh. Their minds had little sense and their bellies had much fat. One of them said: What is your opinion about Allah? Does He hear what we say? The second said: If we speak loudly, then He will hear; if we speak in a low voice, then He will not hear. The third said: If He can hear our loud voice, then He can also hear our low voice. The narrator says: So Allah the Exalted revealed this verse: "And whatever you conceal, your hearing and your sight will bear witness against you." The narrator named Sufyan used to say at first that this narration was transmitted by Mansur or Ibn Abu Najih or Humaid, or by one of them or by two of them, but then he began to say with confidence that this narration is transmitted from Mansur.

Preaching knowledge and importance of three characteristics
Hadith Number: 88
Abdur Rahman, the son of Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah make happy that servant who hears something from us, preserves it, remembers it, and then conveys it, because sometimes the one who directly receives knowledge is not a scholar, and sometimes the one who directly receives knowledge conveys it to someone who is more knowledgeable than him. There are three things about which a Muslim's heart does not fall into deception (i.e., a Muslim's heart should possess these three qualities): sincerity in action, goodwill towards Muslim rulers, and staying with the congregation of Muslims, because the supplication encompasses those who are behind them as well."

Narration about enforcing the punishment for drinking and cutting the hand for theft
Hadith Number: 89
Abu Majid Hanafi narrates: I was present with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) when a man brought a drunkard. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Shake him a little or smell his mouth. The narrator says: He was shaken and his mouth was smelled, and he was intoxicated. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Imprison him, so he was imprisoned. The next day, that person was brought there, and I was also present. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) called for a whip, and a whip was brought to him with a fruit attached to it. By his order, the fruit was removed, then its edge was made thin until it became a lash. The narrator says: He gestured with his finger in this way and said to the one administering the lashes: Strike him, and take your hand back, and give each limb its due. He was lashed in such a way that he was wearing a shirt and an izar (lower garment). (The narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words:) He was wearing a shirt and trousers. Then Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It is not appropriate for any official that when a person liable for hadd is brought to him, he does not carry out the hadd. As for the rest, Allah is Forgiving and loves to forgive. A man said: O Abu Abdur Rahman! This is my nephew, I have no children, but I do not feel the same love for him in my heart as I feel for my own children. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah! Then you are the worst guardian of an orphan; neither did you give him good upbringing nor did you conceal his fault. Then Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I know this, that the first person whose hand the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had cut off (who was he?)—a man from the Ansar was brought who had stolen, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had his hand cut off. At that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in such a state as if dust had been thrown on his face. Here, the narrator Sufyan gestured towards his face with his palm and closed his palm a little. The people said: O Messenger of Allah! Perhaps this matter did not please you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“What is there to prevent me, but do not become helpers of Satan against your brother. It is not appropriate for any governor that when a case of hadd is brought to him, he does not carry it out. As for the rest, Allah is Forgiving and loves to forgive.”Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse:“They should forgive and overlook. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you?”Sufyan says: I came to Yahya al-Jabir, and he said to me: Take out your tablet. I said: I do not have a tablet. At that time, he narrated this hadith to me and also narrated other hadiths, so I did not remember this hadith until he narrated it to me again. Sufyan says: So it is as if I memorized this hadith twice.

Narration about the cure for every disease being revealed
Hadith Number: 90
Sufyan narrates: We met Ata bin Saib in Makkah, and he informed us: We went to visit Abu Abdur Rahman Salami to inquire about his health, and his servant intended to give him medicine. I stopped him, but he said: Let him do it, because I heard Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "Allah Almighty has sent down a cure for every disease He has sent down." Sufyan sometimes narrated these words: "He has also sent down its healing." "So whoever knows it, knows it, and whoever does not know it, remains unaware of it."

Prohibition of neglecting and forgetting the Quran
Hadith Number: 91
Abu Wa'il says: I heard Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) say: Keep reciting this Qur'an regularly, for it slips away from a person's chest faster than a grazing animal slips away from its tether. Then he explained: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is extremely bad for a person to say, 'I forgot such-and-such verses,' rather, he was made to forget them."

Majority of women in Hell and reason for curse
Hadith Number: 92
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“O group of women! Give charity, even if it is from your jewelry, because the majority of the inhabitants of Hell are from among you.”Then a woman stood up who was not from a prominent family and she asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is the reason for this? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“The reason is that you women frequently curse and are ungrateful to your husbands.”Then Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: No creature has been found who is deficient in intellect and religion, yet overcomes wise men in matters, more than women. The narrator says: So it was asked: O Abu Abdur Rahman! What is the deficiency in their intellect and religion? He replied: As for the deficiency in their intellect, Allah Almighty has made the testimony of two women equal to the testimony of one man. As for the deficiency in their religion, a woman cannot perform prayers for several days while prostrating before Allah Almighty.

Narration about bald snake as a collar for not giving zakat
Hadith Number: 93
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not pay the zakat of his wealth, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be turned into a bald snake and it will be made to wear it as a collar." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse from the Book of Allah as its confirmation: "And those who are stingy with what Allah has given them out of His bounty, never think that it is better for them; rather, it is worse for them. That with which they were stingy will be put as a collar around their necks on the Day of Resurrection."

Narration about not replying to salam in prayer
Hadith Number: 94
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Before coming from Habashah, during prayer we used to greet the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace be upon him) would reply to us. When we returned (from Habashah), I greeted the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was performing prayer, but he (peace be upon him) did not reply to my greeting, so I began to have disturbing thoughts. I sat there until the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) completed the prayer. Then I said: O Messenger of Allah! I greeted you while you were praying, but you did not reply to my greeting. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah, the Exalted, can issue a new command in any matter He wills, and the new command regarding this is that you should not speak during prayer." Sufyan says: Of the narrations we have received from Asim, this is the best among them.
