What is Reported Regarding Images and Statues
Hadith Number: 1762
حدثني مالك، عن إسحاق بن عبد الله بن ابي طلحة ، ان رافع بن إسحاق مولى الشفاء اخبره، قال: دخلت انا وعبد الله بن ابي طلحة على ابي سعيد الخدري نعوده، فقال لنا ابو سعيد : اخبرنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ان " الملائكة لا تدخل بيتا فيه تماثيل او تصاوير" . شك إسحاق لا يدري ايتهما قال ابو سعيد؟
It is narrated from Hazrat Rafi bin Ishaq, who was the freed slave of Shifa (bint Abdullah), that I and Abdullah bin Abi Talha together went to visit Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), as he was ill. Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told me: "The angels do not enter a house in which there are pictures or statues." Ishaq (the narrator) is in doubt as to which of the two Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) said (pictures or statues).

Hadith Number: 1763
وحدثني مالك، عن ابي النضر ، عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عتبة بن مسعود ، انه دخل على ابي طلحة الانصاري يعوده، قال: فوجد عنده سهل بن حنيف فدعا ابو طلحة إنسانا فنزع نمطا من تحته، فقال له سهل بن حنيف: لم تنزعه؟ قال: " لان فيه تصاوير"، وقد قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فيها ما قد علمت، فقال سهل: الم يقل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" إلا ما كان رقما في ثوب"، قال: بلى ولكنه اطيب لنفسي
It is narrated from ‘Ubaydullah bin ‘Abdullah that he went to visit Sayyiduna Abu Talhah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), and there he also saw Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) called a man and said: "Remove the mat from beneath me." Sayyiduna Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: "Why?" Sayyiduna Abu Talhah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "It has pictures on it, and you know what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has said regarding pictures." Sayyiduna Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "But the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: 'If it is a design on cloth or something similar, then there is no harm.'" Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Yes, that is true, but my preference is to avoid every kind of picture."

Hadith Number: 1764
وحدثني مالك، عن نافع ، عن القاسم بن محمد ، عن عائشة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: انها اشترت نمرقة فيها تصاوير، فلما رآها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قام على الباب فلم يدخل، فعرفت في وجهه الكراهية، وقالت: يا رسول الله، اتوب إلى الله وإلى رسوله فماذا اذنبت، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" فما بال هذه النمرقة؟" قالت: اشتريتها لك تقعد عليها وتوسدها، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" إن اصحاب هذه الصور يعذبون يوم القيامة، يقال لهم: احيوا ما خلقتم، ثم قال: إن البيت الذي فيه الصور لا تدخله الملائكة"
Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) bought a cushion on which there were pictures. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw it, he stood at the door of the room and did not enter. (Sayyida Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her) noticed signs of displeasure on the blessed face of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I repent to Allah and His Messenger; what is my sin? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“What is this cushion (bedding)?”Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I bought this cushion (bedding) so that you may sit on it and lean on it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Those who make pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection. It will be said to them: Give life to what you have created in the world.”Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“The angels do not enter a house in which there are pictures.”

What is Reported Regarding Eating Lizard
Hadith Number: 1765
حدثني مالك، عن عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن بن ابي صعصعة ، عن سليمان بن يسار ، انه قال: دخل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بيت ميمونة بنت الحارث، فإذا ضباب فيها بيض، ومعه عبد الله بن عباس، وخالد بن الوليد، فقال:" من اين لكم هذا؟" فقالت: اهدته لي اختي هزيلة بنت الحارث، فقال لعبد الله بن عباس، وخالد بن الوليد:" كلا"، فقالا: اولا تاكل انت يا رسول الله؟ فقال:" إني تحضرني من الله حاضرة"، قالت ميمونة: انسقيك يا رسول الله من لبن عندنا، فقال:" نعم"، فلما شرب، قال:" من اين لكم هذا؟" فقالت: اهدته لي اختي هزيلة، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ارايتك جاريتك التي كنت استامرتيني في عتقها، اعطيها اختك وصلي بها رحمك، ترعى عليها فإنه خير لك"
It is narrated from Sulayman bin Yasar that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, went to the house of (his wife) Sayyida Maymunah bint Harith, may Allah be pleased with her. There he saw a white lizard (dabb). With him were Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, and Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid, may Allah be pleased with him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked: "Where did this meat come from?" Sayyida Maymunah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: "My sister Huzaylah bint Harith sent it." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas and Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid, may Allah be pleased with them: "Eat." They said: "Will you not eat, O Messenger of Allah?" The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Someone from Allah, the Glorious and Majestic, comes to me (and there is an unpleasant smell in its meat)." Sayyida Maymunah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: "Shall we give you some milk to drink?" The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Yes." When he had drunk the milk, he asked: "Where did this come from?" Sayyida Maymunah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: "My sister Huzaylah sent it as a gift." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If you give your slave-girl, about whose emancipation you consulted me, to your sister and maintain the ties of kinship, and she herds her goats, that would be appropriate and better for you."

Hadith Number: 1766
وحدثني مالك، عن ابن شهاب ، عن ابي امامة بن سهل بن حنيف ، عن عبد الله بن عباس ، عن خالد بن الوليد بن المغيرة ، انه دخل مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بيت ميمونة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فاتي بضب محنوذ فاهوى إليه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بيده، فقال بعض النسوة اللاتي في بيت ميمونة: اخبروا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بما يريد ان ياكل منه، فقيل: هو ضب يا رسول الله، فرفع يده، فقلت: احرام هو يا رسول الله؟ فقال:" لا، ولكنه لم يكن بارض قومي فاجدني اعافه"، قال خالد: فاجتررته فاكلته، ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ينظر
Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid bin Mughira (may Allah be pleased with him) went with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to the house of Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), where a roasted lizard (dabb) was brought. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reached out his hand to eat it. The women said: Inform the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about whose meat this is. The people said: O Messenger of Allah! This is the meat of a lizard (dabb). He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) withdrew his hand. I said: Is it forbidden, O Messenger of Allah? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“No, but it is not found in my land, so I feel a dislike for eating it.”Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I pulled it towards myself and ate it while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was watching.

Hadith Number: 1767
وحدثني مالك، عن عبد الله بن دينار ، عن عبد الله بن عمر ، ان رجلا نادى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: يا رسول الله، ما ترى في الضب؟ فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لست بآكله ولا بمحرمه"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man called out and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! What do you say about the meat of the lizard (dabb)? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I neither eat it nor declare it unlawful."

What is Reported Regarding the Matter of Dogs
Hadith Number: 1768
حدثني مالك، عن يزيد بن خصيفة ، ان السائب بن يزيد اخبره، انه سمع سفيان بن ابي زهير وهو رجل من ازد شنوءة، من اصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وهو يحدث ناسا معه عند باب المسجد، فقال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " من اقتنى كلبا لا يغني عنه زرعا ولا ضرعا، نقص من عمله كل يوم قيراط" . قال: انت سمعت هذا من رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم؟ فقال: إي ورب هذا المسجد
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sufyan bin Zuhair, may Allah be pleased with him, and he was a man from the tribe of Shanū’ah and a companion of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he was relating hadith to the people at the door of the Prophet’s Mosque. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say:“Whoever keeps a dog, not for the purpose of guarding crops nor for guarding sheep, then every day there will be a decrease and loss in his deeds equal to one qirat.”Sa’ib bin Yazid asked Sayyiduna Sufyan, may Allah be pleased with him: Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him? He said: Yes, by the Lord of this mosque.

Hadith Number: 1769
وحدثني مالك، عن نافع ، عن عبد الله بن عمر ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " من اقتنى كلبا إلا كلبا ضاريا او كلب ماشية، نقص من عمله كل يوم قيراطان"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever keeps a dog, except a hunting dog or a dog for the fields, then every day there will be a reduction and loss of two qirats from his deeds."

Hadith Number: 1770
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered the killing of dogs.

What is Reported Regarding the Matter of Sheep
Hadith Number: 1771
حدثني مالك، عن ابي الزناد ، عن الاعرج ، عن ابي هريرة ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " راس الكفر نحو المشرق، والفخر والخيلاء في اهل الخيل والإبل، والفدادين اهل الوبر، والسكينة في اهل الغنم"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The greatest disbelief is towards the east , and pride and arrogance are among those who own horses and camels, who speak loudly, live in the wilderness , and humility and modesty are among those who herd goats."
