Hazrat Qasim bin Muhammad narrates that I saw Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) stop reciting the Talbiyah as soon as he entered the boundaries of the Haram. When he finished the Tawaf of the House of Allah and the Sa’i between Safa and Marwah, he would start reciting the Talbiyah again. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the Ahadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in which it is mentioned that he continued to recite the Talbiyah until he stoned Jamrah Aqabah, are evidence that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not completely stop reciting the Talbiyah upon entering the boundaries of the Haram (rather, he would start again after the Sa’i between Safa and Marwah). With the help and will of Allah Almighty, I will mention in this book, at the appropriate place, the Ahadith regarding the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) continuously reciting the Talbiyah until stoning Jamrah Aqabah.

It is narrated from Muhammad bin Abdur Rahman that an Iraqi man said to him, "Ask Urwah bin Zubair what a person in the state of Ihram for Hajj should do." So I asked him this question. He replied, "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) performed Hajj. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) informed me that when he reached Makkah Mukarramah, the first thing he did was perform ablution, then circumambulated the House of Allah, then narrated a lengthy hadith."

Abdullah bin Uthman reports that Abu Tufail told us, and I asked him about the ramal (walking briskly) in the first three circuits of the Tawaf of the House of Allah, so he said that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) informed him that when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came to Makkah under the treaty with the Quraysh, then when he entered Makkah, he entered through the large gate (Bab Bani Shaybah), and the people of Quraysh were sitting near Hatim or Hajar Aswad. Then he narrated the complete hadith. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the word mentioned in this hadith is either "Hajar" or "Hijr", I have not determined it.

And the evidence that wearing clothes is an adornment for those who wear them and for covering the private parts, even if the clothes are not decorated with dye, nor are they luxurious garments, is that Allah—Mighty and Majestic—said in His decisive revelation:“Take your adornment at every mosque” [‏الْأَعْرَافِ‏:‏ 31‏] . And by this command, He did not mean wearing clothes decorated with dye and embroidery, nor wearing luxurious garments, but rather He intended wearing clothes that cover the private parts, whether they are luxurious or humble, as the verse was revealed as a rebuke for what the people of ignorance used to do of circumambulating the House naked, not covering their private parts with clothes.

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that (in the time of ignorance) a woman would perform tawaf naked and would say, "Today some part of the body will be exposed or the whole of it will be naked, so whatever part is exposed, I do not make it lawful for anyone to look at it." Then this verse was revealed: «‏‏‏‏يَا بَنِي آدَمَ خُذُوا زِينَتَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ» ‏‏‏‏ [ سورة الأعراف: 31 ] "O children of Adam, take your adornment at every time of prayer."

Imam Ibn Shihab, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates that Imam Sa'id bin al-Musayyib, may Allah have mercy on him, used to say that the Day of Sacrifice (the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah, the day of Qurbani) is the day of Hajj al-Akbar. Ibn Shihab narrates from Humaid bin Abdur Rahman that Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, states that before the Farewell Hajj, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, appointed Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, as the leader of Hajj, and he sent me with a group to announce on the Day of Sacrifice that beware, after today no polytheist will perform Hajj, and no one will circumambulate the House of Allah naked. Ibn Shihab, may Allah have mercy on him, says that Imam Humaid used to say that based on this hadith of Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, the Day of Sacrifice is the day of Hajj al-Akbar.

Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hands will be raised at seven places." In this hadith, it is mentioned: "And hands will be raised upon seeing the Sacred House (the Ka'bah)." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I have not mentioned a separate chapter for this hadith because there is a difference among the narrators in its chain of transmission, and I have mentioned it in the Book al-Kabir.

Hazrat Muhajir Makki narrates that it was asked from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) about the person who sees the Sacred House (the Ka'bah), should he raise his hands? He replied that in my opinion, only the Jews do this act, whereas we performed Hajj with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and he did not use to do this.
