بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْأَعْذَارِ الَّتِي تُبِيحُ التَّخَلُّفَ عَنِ الْجَمَاعَةِ
Chapter on the excuses that permit missing the congregation
Hadith Number: 2480
عن ابي المليح بن اسامة قال: خرجت إلى المسجد في ليلة مطيرة، فلما رجعت استفتحت، فقال ابي: من هٰذا؟ قالوا: ابو المليح، قال: لقد رايتنا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم زمن الحديبية واصابتنا سماء لم تبل اسافل نعالنا، فنادى منادي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم ان صلوا في رحالكم
Abu Malih bin Usamah says: On a rainy night, I went to the mosque, (offered the Isha prayer) and returned, and asked for the door to be opened. My father said: Who is this? The people said: This is Abu Malih. He said: We were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, at the occasion of Hudaybiyyah. We saw that (a light) rain fell, but even the lower parts of our shoes did not get wet. Yet the caller of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, announced: Pray in your tents.

Hadith Number: 2481
(وعنه من طريق ثان) عن ابيه ان يوم حنين كان مطيرا، قال: فامر النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم مناديه ان الصلاة في الرحال
(Second chain of narration) He narrates from his father: that on the day of Hunayn it was raining, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered his muezzin to announce that the prayer would be performed in the tents.

حدثنا عبد الله حدثني ابي ثنا ابن ابي عدي عن ابن عون عن محمد ان ابن عباس قال ابن عون اظنه رفعه قال: امر مناديا فنادى في يوم مطير ان صلوا في رحالكم
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the muezzin on a rainy day to say: Perform the prayer in your tents.

عن عائشة رضي الله عنها تبلغ به النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: ((إذا وضع العشاء واقيمت الصلاة فابدئوا بالعشاء))
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When dinner is served and the call for the establishment of prayer is also given, then eat the food first.

عن ام سلمة رضي الله عنها قالت: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: ((إذا حضر العشاء وحضرت الصلاة فابدئوا بالعشاء))
Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When dinner is served and it is also time for prayer, then eat the food first.

Hadith Number: 2485
عن نافع عن ابن عمر عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قال: ((إذا وضع العشاء واقيمت الصلاة فابدئوا بالعشاء))، قال: ولقد تعشى ابن عمر مرة وهو يسمع قراءة الإمام
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the evening meal is served and the prayer is also established, then eat the food first. Nafi’ says: Once Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was eating his evening meal and he was listening to the recitation of the Imam.

Hadith Number: 2486
عن موهوب بن عبد الرحمن بن ازهر عن انس بن مالك رضي الله عنه انه كان يخالف عمر بن عبد العزيز، فقال له عمر: ما يحملك على هٰذا؟ فقال: إني رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم يصلي صلاة متى توافقها اصلي معك ومتى تخالفها اصلي وانقلب إلى اهلي
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) used to stay behind (i.e., not pray with) Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) in prayer. (One day) Umar bin Abdul Aziz asked him: What makes you do this? He replied: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praying; when you conform to that prayer, I pray with you, but when you differ from it, I perform the prayer (on time) and go home.

عن عبد الله بن عمر رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: ((لا تمنعوا إماء الله مساجد الله))
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not prevent Allah’s female servants from going to Allah’s mosques.

Hadith Number: 2488
(وعنه من طريق ثان) قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: ((لا تمنعوا إماء الله ان يصلين في المسجد))
(Second chain of narration) They say that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from praying in the mosque.
