Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Adi Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting among the people when a man came to him and sought permission to speak to him in private. He spoke to the Prophet (peace be upon him) in a whisper, asking if he could kill a man who belonged to the hypocrites. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked aloud: "Does he not testify that there is no god but Allah?" The man replied: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), but his testimony is of no value." The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: "Does he not testify that I am the Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), but his testimony is of no value." The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: "Does he not perform prayer?" He replied: "Yes, he does, but his prayer is of no value." The Prophet (peace be upon him) then said: "These are the people whom I have been forbidden (to kill)."

Humaid bin Hilal narrates: Abu Aliah and one of my companions came to me. They said: "You come, you are young and you remember more hadiths than me." So we set out until we reached Bishr bin Asim Laithi. Abu Aliah said: "Narrate hadith to these two." Bishr narrated this incident. Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to us: He belonged to their tribe. He narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) dispatched an expedition. They attacked a certain people. One man from among them separated himself. One of the members of the expedition went to him with a drawn sword. The (man who had separated) said: "I am a Muslim," but (the pursuer) did not pay attention to his words and attacked him, killing him. When this news reached the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he expressed severe anger about it. The killer was informed of this. The narrator says: While the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was delivering a sermon, the killer said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! By Allah, he only said this word to save himself from being killed." The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) turned away from him and from those on his side. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) continued his sermon. The man repeated the same thing and said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! He only said this to save himself from being killed." The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) again turned away from him and from those on his side. The man could not remain patient, until he said the same thing a third time. Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) turned towards him, anger visible on his face, and said: "Indeed, Allah has made it forbidden for me to kill any believer." The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said this three times.

Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Since Allah Almighty created the heavens and the earth, time has been revolving in its cycle. The year consists of twelve months, of which four are sacred months. Three of them come consecutively: Dhu al-Qa'dah, Dhu al-Hijjah, and Muharram, while the month of Rajab comes between Jumada al-Thani and Sha'ban. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Which month is this? We replied: Allah and His Messenger know best. The narrator says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent until we thought that perhaps he would give it a new name. Let those present convey (this message) to those who are absent, for sometimes the one to whom it is conveyed may preserve it better than the one who heard it directly (from the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him).
