Fadl bin Hasan Damri narrates from Umm Hakam or Dubaa’ah, who are both daughters of Zubair bin Abdul Muttalib, she says: Some captives were brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I, my sister, and Fatimah went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), complained to him about our difficulties, and requested that some captives be assigned to us. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“The orphans of Badr have preceded you (and have taken all the captives), but I will tell you something that is better for you than captives, (and that is) after every prayer, say «الله اكبر» thirty-three times, «سبحان الله» thirty-three times, «الحمد لله» thirty-three times, and (to complete one hundred) say once «لا اله الا الله وحدو لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد، وهو على كل شيء قدير» There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is capable of all things.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that we were sitting when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and said: "Shall I tell you about the person who is the best in rank?" We said: Why not. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is the man who holds the reins of his horse in the way of Allah (i.e., he is ready to fight along with his horse) until he dies or is martyred." Then he said: "Now shall I tell you about the person who is next in rank after him?" We said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is the man who resides in a mountain pass, establishes prayer, pays zakat, and keeps away from people." Then he said: "Now shall I also tell you about the person who is the worst in rank?" We said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is the one who, when asked in the name of Allah, the Most Great, does not give."

If one dies after feeding the poor...
Numbering by, Al-Albani: 1645, Fiqh-based: ,984
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was ill, so I went to him. I saw that he wanted to sit up, and Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was swaying due to drowsiness. I said: O Messenger of Allah! I think that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) stayed awake with you during the night, so should I not come close to you (to support you)? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Ali is more deserving of this service than you." So Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came close to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and supported him. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Whoever's life ends in such a state that he had been feeding a poor person hoping for reward from Allah, he will enter Paradise. Whoever's life ends in such a state that he had been fasting hoping for reward from Allah, he will enter Paradise. And whoever's end comes in such a state that he had been reciting «لا اله الا الله» hoping for reward from Allah, he too will enter Paradise."
