-" ادفعوها إلى خالتها، فإن الخالة ام".
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We left Makkah, and the daughter of Sayyiduna Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him) started following us and called out:“My uncle! My uncle!”So I took her hand and handed her over to Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) and said: This is your uncle’s daughter, keep her in your care. When we reached Madinah, I, Sayyiduna Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him) began to dispute about her. I said: I brought her and she is my uncle’s daughter. Zaid said: She is my brother’s daughter. Ja’far said: She is my uncle’s daughter and her maternal aunt is my wife. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), deciding the matter, said to Ja’far:“You resemble me in appearance and character.”To Zaid he said:“You are our brother and friend.”And to me (Ali) he said:“You are from me and I am from you. Do this: hand the girl over to her maternal aunt, for the maternal aunt is like the mother.”I said: O Messenger of Allah! Why don’t you marry her? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“She is my foster niece.”

-" فما عدلت بينهما. اي بين الابن والبنت في التقبيل".
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man was sitting with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). His son came to him, so he kissed him and seated him in his lap. After that, his daughter came, and he seated her beside him. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not do justice between them?"—meaning, you kissed your son but did not kiss your daughter.

- (اتقوا الله، واعدلوا بين اولادكم؛ كما تحبون ان يبروكم).
Aamir says: I heard Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was delivering a sermon: My father gave me a gift in charity. Sayyidah Amrah bint Rawahah said: I will not be pleased until you make the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a witness to this. So Sayyiduna Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I have given charity to my son, and Amrah bint Rawahah has told me that she will not be pleased until you make the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a witness to it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him:“Do you have other sons besides him?”He said: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Have you given all of them the same as you have given him?”He said: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“This is injustice; do not make me a witness to injustice. Fear Allah and be just among your children, just as you like them all to behave kindly towards you equally.”

-" إن عليك من الحق ان تعدل بين ولدك كما عليهم من الحق ان يبروك".
Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that my father gave me a gift, then he wanted the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to be a witness to it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked:“Have you given gifts to all your sons as you have to this son?”He said: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Indeed, it is obligatory upon you to be just among your children, just as it is obligatory upon them to treat you (all) with equal good conduct.”
