The Prophet, peace be upon him, was distracted by something in front of him, and Abu Usayd ordered his son to be taken from the thigh of the Prophet, peace be upon him. When the Prophet, peace be upon him, regained awareness, he said: "Where is the boy?" Abu Usayd said: "We took him away, O Messenger of Allah!" He said: "What is his name?" He said: "So-and-so." He said: "No, rather his name is Al-Mundhir," so he named him that day Al-Mundhir.
