It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once, in a dream, two angels came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). One of them sat at the feet of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the other at his head. The angel who sat at the feet said to the one sitting at the head, "Describe the example of him and his ummah." He replied, "The example of him and his ummah is like a group of travelers who have reached the edge of a jungle. They do not have enough provisions to cross the jungle or to return. While they are in this state, a man in a Yemeni cloak comes to them and says, 'Look! If I take you to a lush, green garden and flowing pools, will you follow me?' They reply, 'Yes!' So that man leads them to lush, green gardens and flowing pools that quench their thirst, and they eat and drink and become healthy and strong. Then one day that man says to them, 'Did I not meet you in such a state that you promised me if I brought you to lush, green gardens and flowing pools, you would follow me?' They reply, 'Of course.' The man then says, 'Ahead of you are gardens even greener and pools even more abundant, so now follow me.' At this, one group affirms him and says, 'InshaAllah, we will follow him,' while another group says, 'We are happy to remain here.'"

Dhahhak bin Muzahim says that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) when reciting the Talbiyah would say: «لَبَّيْكَ اللّٰهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ» and he would say, "Stop here, because this was the Talbiyah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from behind, at that time the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had separated his arms from his sides and opened them, so I saw the whiteness of the blessed armpits of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in the shade of one of his chambers, and some Muslims were also present there. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man will come to you who sees with the eye of Satan. When he comes to you, do not speak to him." After a short while, a man with a bluish complexion came and said, "O Muhammad! (peace and blessings be upon him) Why did you speak ill of me?" and he began to swear an oath about it. Regarding this dispute, this verse was revealed: «﴿فَيَحْلِفُونَ لَهُ كَمَا يَحْلِفُونَ لَكُمْ وَيَحْسَبُونَ﴾ [المجادلة: 18] » "They swear to a lie and they do not even realize."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once two men came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); both of them had the same need. When one of them began to speak, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) noticed an unpleasant odor from his mouth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Do you not use the miswak?" He replied: "I do, but I have not had anything to eat for three days (and that is why there is an odor from my mouth)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered a man who provided him with shelter, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fulfilled his need.

Abu Dhubyan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once we asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about «﴿مَا جَعَلَ اللّٰهُ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قَلْبَيْنِ فِي جَوْفِهِ﴾ [الأحزاب: 4] » "Allah has not made for any man two hearts in his chest," what does this command of Allah Almighty mean? He replied that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood to lead the prayer, and during the prayer a thought came to him, so the hypocrites who used to pray with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you not see that he has two hearts, one heart with you and one heart with them? Upon this, Allah Almighty revealed this verse.
