It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubaidah that I once saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performing ablution; he performed the ablution thoroughly and perfectly. The narrator says that my grandmother Rabee'ah also used to perform ablution completely and perfectly.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Harith bin Hissan that we arrived in Madinah Munawwarah and the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) was present on the pulpit, and Sayyiduna Bilal was standing before him with a sword hanging, and some black flags were also visible. I asked about these flags, so the people informed me that Sayyiduna Amr bin Aas has returned from a military expedition.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Harith bin Hassan that once I passed by an old woman at the place of Rabdhah who had been separated from Banu Tamim. She asked, "Where are you going?" I said, "To the Prophet (peace be upon him)." She said, "Take me with you, I have some work with him." When I reached Madinah, I entered the Prophet's Mosque and the Prophet (peace be upon him) was surrounded by people and a black flag was waving. I asked the people, "Is there something special today?" The people informed me that actually, the Prophet (peace be upon him) is sending Sayyiduna Amr bin Al-As with an army somewhere. I went forward and submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! If you deem it appropriate, then make Hijaz a boundary between us and Banu Tamim, because it used to be so." At this, the old woman jumped forward, her vein of zeal surged, and she said, "O Messenger of Allah! Where will you compel your own Mudar?" I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! I have brought this old woman with me, how was I to know that she would start arguing with me." I seek refuge in Allah from becoming like that person as the people before said." The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked, "What did the people before say?" I submitted, "Did you ask an informed person?" But the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "You narrate." Actually, the Prophet (peace be upon him) wanted to hear the whole matter. I submitted, "The people of 'Ad sent one of their men as a delegate. He stayed as a guest of Mu'awiyah bin Bakr for a month. He used to serve him wine and make the singing women sing for him. One day he set out and when he reached the mountains of Mahrah, he said, 'O Allah! I have not come to repay anyone, nor to treat any sick person, so give your servants to drink what You can give, and arrange for Mu'awiyah bin Bakr to serve for a month.' Actually, this was gratitude for the wine he drank at his place for a month. Meanwhile, black clouds came and someone called out, 'Take this cloud full of milk, and do not leave any person of the people of 'Ad thirsty.'"

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tamimah Hijimi that once I met the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on one of the roads of Madinah Munawwarah. At that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing a woolen waistcloth whose edges were puffed up. I greeted him saying, "Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "‘Alaikas-salam’ is the greeting for the dead." Then I asked about the waistcloth, "Up to where should I tie my waistcloth?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) removed the cloth from his shin bone and said, "Tie it up to here. If you cannot do that, then tie it a little below this. If you cannot do that, then tie it up to the ankles. If you cannot even do that, then Allah does not like any boastful, arrogant person."

Then I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about virtue. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do not consider any good deed insignificant, even if you give someone a rope or a shoelace, or draw water from your bucket into the vessel of someone who asks for water, or remove something from the road that is causing them harm, or meet your brother with a cheerful face, or greet your brother when you meet him, or show affection and love to those who are considered strangers in the land. And if someone abuses you and taunts you with something about yourself that you know, and you also know something similar about him, then do not taunt him with that flaw. This will be a source of reward for you and a source of burden for him. And act upon that which your ears like to hear, and avoid that which your ears do not like to hear."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahar Abdi that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The Hour will not be established until some tribes are swallowed up by the earth, and people will begin to ask, "How many people are left from such-and-such tribe?" When I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioning the tribes, I understood that what was meant were the Arabs, because non-Arabs are referred to by their cities.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sabrah bin Abi Fakih that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Satan sits on the various paths to mislead the son of Adam. First, he sits on the path of Islam and says to him, "Will you accept Islam and abandon your own and your forefathers' religion?" He disobeys Satan and accepts Islam. Then Satan sits on the path of migration and says to him, "Will you migrate and leave your land and sky?" The example of the emigrant is like a horse in its length. He disobeys Satan and migrates. Then Satan sits on the path of jihad and says to him, "There is danger to your life and wealth in this. If you participate in the battle, you will be killed, someone else will marry your wife, and your wealth will be distributed." But he disobeys Satan and goes out for jihad. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever does these deeds and dies, it is Allah's responsibility to admit him to Paradise. If he is martyred, or drowns in the sea, or dies by falling from an animal, even then it is Allah's responsibility to admit him to Paradise.
