I replied, "O Messenger of Allah, I am experiencing the same condition that other women experience." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "This is the thing that has been decreed for all the daughters of Adam (peace be upon him)."
Ya'la bin Mamlak says that I asked Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) about the night prayer and recitation of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so she said: "Where are you and where is the prayer and recitation of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray for as long as he slept, and he used to sleep for as long as he prayed. Then, regarding the manner of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) recitation that she described, it was with clarification of each and every letter."

Hasan bin Muhammad says that an Ansari woman told me—she is still alive, if you wish you can ask her, and I can take you to her. The narrator said, "No, you yourself narrate." He said: Once I went to Umm Salamah, and during that time the Prophet (peace be upon him) also came to her, and it seemed that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was angry. I covered myself with the sleeve of my shirt. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said something which I did not understand. I said to Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), "O Mother of the Believers, I see that the Prophet (peace be upon him) has come in a state of anger." She said, "Yes, did you hear what he said?" I asked, "What did he say?" She replied, "The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'When evil spreads in the land, it cannot be stopped, and then Allah will send His punishment upon the people of the earth.'" I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, will the righteous also be included in this?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Yes, the righteous will also be included in it, and the same calamity will befall them as the common people. Then Allah will draw them towards His forgiveness and pleasure."

It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon there will come six rulers, some of whose habits you will find good and some you will disapprove of. So whoever disapproves will be free of responsibility, and whoever expresses dislike will remain safe. However, the one who is pleased and follows them (his case is different). The companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah, should we not fight against them?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No, as long as they lead you in the five prayers."

It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent her a marriage proposal. She said, "O Messenger of Allah, none of my guardians are present here." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "None of your guardians, whether absent or present, will dislike this." She then said to her son, Umar bin Abi Salamah, "You arrange my marriage with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." So he gave Hazrat Umm Salamah in marriage to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her, "Whatever I have given to your sisters (my wives), I will not give you less than that: two millstones, a water-skin, and a leather pillow stuffed with palm fiber." After this, whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would come to her for privacy, as soon as she saw him, she would take her daughter Zainab and seat her in her lap, and eventually the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would leave in the same way. When Hazrat Ammar bin Yasir, who was Hazrat Umm Salamah's foster brother, learned of this, he came to Hazrat Umm Salamah and said, "Where is that dirty girl through whom you have been causing the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) distress?" and he took her away with him. This time, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and entered the house, he looked around in all four corners of the room and then asked about the girl, "Where is Zanab (Zainab)?" She replied, "Hazrat Ammar came and took her with him." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had privacy with her and said, "If you wish, I will spend seven days with you, but then I will also spend seven days with each of my other wives."
