Abdullah bin Harith says that once I and Hazrat Ibn Abbas went to Hazrat Amir Muawiyah, so he said, "O Ibn Abbas! You had mentioned the two rak'ahs after Asr. I have come to know that some people perform these two rak'ahs, whereas we neither saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) performing them nor heard him commanding them." He (Ibn Abbas) said, "People are given this fatwa by Hazrat Ibn Zubair." Shortly after, Hazrat Ibn Zubair also arrived. They asked him about this, so he informed that Hazrat Aisha had told him this regarding the Prophet (peace be upon him). Hazrat Muawiyah sent two messengers to Hazrat Aisha and asked, "Ibn Zubair narrates from you that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to perform two rak'ahs after Asr. What are these two rak'ahs?" She replied by sending a message that Hazrat Umm Salamah had informed her about this. Hazrat Muawiyah sent a messenger to Hazrat Umm Salamah, saying, "According to Hazrat Aisha, you told her that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to perform two rak'ahs after the Asr prayer. What are these rak'ahs?" Hazrat Umm Salamah said, "May Allah have mercy on Aisha. Did I not tell her that later the Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade these two rak'ahs?"
