Section on Tarawih prayer – mentioning Allah’s forgiveness of past sins for the Muslim who stands in prayer during Ramadan with faith and seeking reward
Hadith Number: 2546
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) saying regarding Ramadan: "Whoever performs voluntary acts (nawafil) in it with faith and seeking reward, his past sins will be forgiven." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The meaning of 'ihtisab' is that the servant, along with obedience, intends to present himself before his Lord, hoping for its acceptance.

Section on Tarawih prayer – mentioning Allah’s favor of recording the reward of the whole night for one who prays Tarawih with the imam until he finishes
Hadith Number: 2547
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We observed the fasts of Ramadan with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He did not lead us in voluntary prayers on the sixth night. He led us in voluntary prayers on the fifth night until he began to wait for the night. We said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), if you would lead us in voluntary prayers on the remaining nights, (it would be appropriate). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever prays with the Imam until he finishes, he will have the reward of praying the entire night. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not lead us in prayer until three nights remained in the month, so he led us in prayer on the third night. He gathered his family and his wives as well, and he led us in voluntary prayers until we feared that we would miss success. The narrator says: I asked: What is meant by "success"? He replied: Suhoor (pre-dawn meal). (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says: The statement of Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he did not lead us in voluntary prayers on the sixth night, and he led us in voluntary prayers on the fifth night, means the sixth or fifth night of the remaining ten nights. It does not mean the fifth or sixth night of the month that had already passed, because the month in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) addressed his Ummah had twenty-nine days. So the sixth night of the remaining part of a twenty-nine-day month was the twenty-fourth night, and the fifth night of the remaining part of a twenty-nine-day month would be the twenty-fifth night.)

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We mentioned the Night of Qadr in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: How much of the month has passed? We replied: Twenty-two (22) days have passed and eight days remain. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, rather twenty-two (22) days have passed and seven days remain; sometimes the month is of twenty-nine (29) days, so seek this night.

Sa’d bin Hisham narrates: He presented himself before Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and said: Tell me about the character of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: Have you not recited the Qur’an? I replied: Yes, I have. She said: The character of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was the Qur’an. The narrator says: I intended that now I should get up and not ask her about anything else. But I said: O Mother of the Believers! Tell me about the night prayer of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: Have you not recited this Surah:“O you who wraps himself [in a garment] ”? I replied: Yes, I have. Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: In the beginning of this Surah, Allah made the night prayer obligatory. The Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions performed the night prayer for a year until their feet became swollen. Allah kept the concluding part of this Surah withheld in the heavens for twelve months, then Allah revealed the command of concession at the end of this Surah, so the night prayer became voluntary, which was previously obligatory.

Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Satan ties knots at the back of the head of any person; when that person sleeps, he ties three knots. On each knot he says, 'The night is long, so keep sleeping.' If that person wakes up and remembers Allah, one knot is undone. If he performs ablution, the second knot is undone.
