Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – Recommendation to slightly bend the index finger when pointing
Hadith Number: 1946
Malik bin Numair Khuza'i narrates: His father told him that he saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during prayer, placing his right hand on his right knee. The Prophet (peace be upon him) had raised his index finger and had slightly bent it, and he was supplicating.

Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – Clarification that pointing with the index finger should be towards the qiblah
Hadith Number: 1947
It is narrated about Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that he saw a man moving pebbles with his hand during prayer. When the man completed the prayer, Sayyiduna Abdullah said to him: Do not move pebbles during prayer because this act is from Satan. Rather, do as the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, used to do. The narrator states: Then Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar placed his right hand on his knee and pointed towards the Qiblah with the finger next to the thumb. He kept his gaze towards this finger (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words:) in the direction of this finger. Then he said: I saw the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, doing like this.

Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – Description of what is recited during sitting in prayer
Hadith Number: 1950
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: At first, we did not know what we should recite in prayer, so we used to say: Peace be upon Sayyiduna Jibreel, peace be upon Sayyiduna Mika'il. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught us. He said: Allah Himself is the Giver of peace. When you sit after performing two rak'ahs, recite this: "All verbal, physical, and financial acts of worship are exclusively for Allah. O Prophet, peace be upon you. May Allah's mercy and His blessings descend upon you. Peace be upon us and upon all the righteous servants of Allah." Abu Wa'il narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) in his narration these words: (The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said) "When you recite these words, this peace will reach every close angel, every sent prophet, and every righteous servant. (You should also recite:) I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is His servant and His Messenger."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We did not know what we should recite after sitting (for Tashahhud) following two rak’ahs; we only knew that we should declare the Tasbih, recite Takbir, and praise our Lord. Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was granted the knowledge of things that open the doors of goodness and the comprehensive statements about goodness (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words:) comprehensive matters regarding goodness. He said to us: When you sit after performing two rak’ahs, then recite this:“All verbal, physical, and financial acts of worship are exclusively for Allah. O Prophet, peace be upon you, and the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you. Peace be upon us and upon all the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger.”(The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:) Then, regarding supplication, a person has the choice to supplicate to his Lord for whatever he wishes.”(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The command to sit after two rak’ahs is an obligatory command, but the action of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his not objecting to those behind him indicates that the first sitting (Qa’dah) is recommended, while the second sitting remains obligatory in its state.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Previously, when we used to sit behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) (during prayer), we used to say:“Peace be upon Allah before (it reaches) His servants, peace be upon Jibreel, peace be upon Sayyiduna Mika’il, and peace be upon so-and-so.”When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) completed the prayer, he said:“Indeed, Allah Himself is the Giver of peace. When any person sits during the prayer, he should first say: ‘All physical, verbal, and financial acts of worship are exclusively for Allah. O Prophet, peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon all the righteous servants of Allah.’”(The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, says:)“When a servant recites these words, (the greeting of peace) reaches every righteous servant in the heavens and the earth.”(After this, the person should say:)“I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is His servant and His Messenger.”(The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, says:)“Then, regarding supplication, the person has a choice—whatever he wishes, he may supplicate for.”
