Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O best of creation!" (i.e., the best among all creatures). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This (description) was for Ibrahim (peace be upon him)."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yusuf, son of Yaqub, son of Ishaq, son of Khalilur Rahman Ibrahim (peace be upon them), was the noble son of a noble, son of a noble, son of a noble. If I (Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him) had stayed in prison as long as Yusuf (peace be upon him) stayed, and a caller had come to summon me, I would have (immediately) accepted his word. But when the messenger came to him, he said: «فَاسْأَلْهُ مَا بَالُ النِّسْوَةِ اللَّاتِي قَطَّعْنَ أَيْدِيَهُنَّ» 'Ask him, what is the real story of those women who cut their hands?' (12-Yusuf:50) And may Allah have mercy on Lut (peace be upon him), he wished to take refuge in some strong support. When he said to his people: «لَوْ أَنَّ لِي بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ آوِي إِلَى رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ» 'Would that I had strength to resist you or could betake myself to some powerful support.' (11-Hud:80) So after them, whenever Allah sent a prophet, He sent him among a multitude of his people."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I am greatly amazed at the patience and generosity of my brother Yusuf (peace be upon him), may Allah forgive him, when the message to interpret the dream was sent to him. If I had been there, I would have come out (of prison) before interpreting (the dream). So I am greatly amazed at his patience and generosity, and may Allah forgive him, a man came to him so that he could come out, but he did not come out until his excuse was clarified. If I had been there, I would have rushed to the door. If it were not for the statement «اذْكُرْنِي عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ» 'mention me to your master' (12: Yusuf: 42), he would not have stayed in prison, as he was seeking relief from distress from other than Allah."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I (Muhammad, peace be upon him) had stayed in prison for as long as Yusuf (peace be upon him) stayed, and a messenger had come to call me, I would have (immediately) accepted his word. Surely my Lord is aware of their plot.' (12-Yusuf:50) And may Allah have mercy on Lut (peace be upon him), he wished to take refuge in some strong support. When he said to his people: «لَوْ أَنَّ لِي بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ آوِي إِلَى رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ» 'If only I had strength to resist you or could take refuge in some mighty support.' (11-Hud:80) So after them, whenever Allah sent a prophet, He sent him among a large group of his people."

Prophet (PBUH) Preferred Servitude Over Kingship
Numbering by, Al-Albani: 1002, Fiqh-based: ,3797
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Jibreel (the Trustworthy) was sitting with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and looked towards the sky, (when suddenly) he saw an angel descending. Then Jibreel informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that this angel has never descended since his creation until today. When he had descended, he said, "O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Your Lord has sent me to you, (I have come to ask) shall I make you a king or a servant who is a messenger?" Jibreel said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Muhammad! Show humility to your Lord." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, rather (let Him make me) a servant and a messenger."

The Trunk Weeping
Numbering by, Al-Albani: 2174, Fiqh-based: ,3798
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver sermons while leaning against a trunk. When he arranged for a pulpit, that trunk began to weep. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to it and embraced it, and then it became silent. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I had not embraced it, it would have continued to weep until the Day of Resurrection."

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver the sermon leaning against a date-palm trunk. An Ansari woman, whose slave was a carpenter, said: O Messenger of Allah! My slave is a carpenter, should I order him to make a pulpit for you so that you may deliver the sermon standing on it? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why not." So she had a pulpit made. When Friday came and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood on the pulpit to deliver the sermon, that trunk began to cry like a child. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When that trunk lost the remembrance (i.e., the words of the sermon), it began to cry."

Did the Prophet (PBUH) See Allah?
Numbering by, Al-Albani: 3575, Fiqh-based: ,3801
Masruq says: I was sitting reclining with Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). She said to me: O Abu Aisha! There are three matters, and to believe in any one of them is to accuse Allah Almighty of lying. I asked: What are those matters? She said: Whoever thinks that Muhammad (peace be upon him) saw his Lord, he has lied against Allah Almighty. I was reclining, but upon hearing this I sat up and said: O Mother of the Believers! Give me some respite and do not be hasty, did Allah Almighty not say: «وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ بِالْأُفُقِ الْمُبِينِ» "And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon." (81-At-Takwir:23) «وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ نَزْلَةً أُخْرَى» "And indeed he saw him another time." (53-An-Najm:13) (From these verses it is understood that the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw his Lord)? Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I was the first among this Ummah to ask the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about these verses, and he replied to me: "That was Gabriel, I saw him in his original form twice. I saw him descending from the sky, and his great size filled the space between the sky and the earth." Then Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Have you not heard the statement of Allah Almighty: «لَا تُدْرِكُهُ الْأَبْصَارُ وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ الْأَبْصَارَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ» "Eyes cannot perceive Him, but He perceives the eyes, and He is the Subtle, the All-Aware." (6-Al-An'am:103) And have you not heard the statement of Allah Almighty: «وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَنْ يُكَلِّمَهُ اللَّـهُ إِلَّا وَحْيًا أَوْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ حِجَابٍ أَوْ يُرْسِلَ رَسُولًا فَيُوحِيَ بِإِذْنِهِ مَا يَشَاءُ إِنَّهُ عَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ» "And it is not for any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a veil, or that He sends a messenger to reveal by His permission what He wills. Indeed, He is Most High, Most Wise." (42-Ash-Shura:51) Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: And whoever thinks that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) concealed any part of what was revealed to him from the Book of Allah, he has accused Allah Almighty of lying, while Allah Almighty says: «يَا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَإِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَمَا بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالَتَهُ وَاللَّـهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ إِنَّ اللَّـهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ» "O Messenger! Convey what has been revealed to you from your Lord, and if you do not, then you have not conveyed His message." (5-Al-Ma'idah:67) Then she said: And whoever thinks that the Prophet (peace be upon him) gives news of what will happen tomorrow, he has fabricated a lie against Allah Almighty, while Allah Almighty says: «قُلْ لَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ الْغَيْبَ إِلَّا اللَّـهُ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ» "Say: None in the heavens and the earth knows the unseen except Allah." (27-An-Naml:65).

Seeing the Prophet (PBUH) in a Dream
Numbering by, Al-Albani: 1004, Fiqh-based: ,3802
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever sees me in a dream, it is as if he has seen me in a state of wakefulness, because Satan does not have the power to assume my form."
