Mishkat al-Masabih
(طَرِيقَةُ الِاضْطِجَاعِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ)
(The manner of lying down in the mosque)
Hadith Number: 4708
4708 - وعن عباد بن تميم - رضي الله عنه - عن عمه قال: رايت رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - في المسجد مستلقيا واضعا إحدى قدمه على الاخرى. متفق عليه.
Ubadah bin Tameem narrates from his uncle, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) lying on his back in the mosque, with one of his legs placed over the other. Agreed upon.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:متفق عليه
(مَنْعُ وَضْعِ رِجْلٍ عَلَى رِجْلٍ عِنْدَ الِاضْطِجَاعِ عَلَى الظَّهْرِ)
(Prohibition of placing one foot over the other while lying on the back)
Hadith Number: 4709
4709 - وعن جابر - رضي الله عنه - قال: نهى رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - ان يرفع الرجل إحدى رجليه على الاخرى وهو مستلق على ظهره . رواه مسلم.
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade a man from lying on his back with one leg placed over the other. Narrated by Muslim.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:صحيح
(عَدَمُ وَضْعِ رِجْلٍ عَلَى رِجْلٍ إِذَا كَانَ هُنَاكَ خَطَرُ انْكِشَافِ الْعَوْرَةِ)
(Not placing one foot over the other if there is a risk of exposing private parts)
Hadith Number: 4710
4710 - وعنه ان النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قال:"لا يستلقين احدكم ثم يضع إحدى رجليه على الاخرى". رواه مسلم.
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "None of you should lie on his back and place one foot over the other." Narrated by Muslim.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:صحيح
(مَنْعُ الْمَشْيِ بِتَكَبُّرٍ)
(Prohibition of walking with arrogance)
Hadith Number: 4711
4711 - وعن ابي هريرة - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"بينما رجل يتبختر في بردين وقد اعجبته نفسه، خسف به الارض ، فهو يتجلجل فيها إلى يوم القيامة". متفق عليه.
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Once a man, dressed in a suit, was walking arrogantly, and his soul had made him conceited. He was caused to sink into the earth, and he will continue descending in it until the Day of Resurrection." Agreed upon.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:متفق عليه
(أُسْلُوبُ جُلُوسِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ)
(The manner of the Prophet’s sitting, peace be upon him, in the mosque)
Hadith Number: 4712
الفصل الثاني 4712 - عن جابر بن سمرة - رضي الله عنهما - قال: رايت النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - متكئا على وسادة على يساره . رواه الترمذي.
Jabir bin Samurah, may Allah be pleased with him, reports: I saw the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, reclining on a cushion on his left side. Its chain is authentic; narrated by al-Tirmidhi.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:إسناده صحيح
(عَقْدُ الْيَدَيْنِ حَوْلَ السَّاقَيْنِ)
(Wrapping hands around the shins)
Hadith Number: 4713
4713 - وعن ابي سعيد الخدري - رضي الله عنه - قال: كان رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - إذا جلس في المسجد احتبى بيده . رواه رزين.
Abu Saeed Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would sit in the mosque, he would clasp his hands together. Weak chain, narrated by Razeen.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:ضعيف جدًا
(جَوَازُ حَالَةِ الْقُرْقِضَاءِ)
(Permissibility of the Qurqiza posture)
Hadith Number: 4714
4714 - وعن قيلة بنت مخرمة - رضي الله عنها - انها رات رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - في المسجد وهو قاعد القرفصاء . قالت: فلما رايت رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - المتخشع ارعدت من الفرق. رواه ابو داود.
Qilah bint Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that she saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sitting in the mosque in the position of qurfusā’ (sitting on his feet with his arms wrapped around his shins). She says, when I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a state of humility and submissiveness, I trembled out of fear. Its chain is weak. Narrated by Abu Dawood.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:إسناده ضعيف
(الْجُلُوسُ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْنِ)
(Sitting on both knees)
Hadith Number: 4715
4715 - وعن جابر بن سمرة رضي الله عنهما قال: كان النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - إذا صلى الفجر تربع في مجلسه حتى تطلع الشمس حسناء . رواه ابو داود.
Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would perform the Fajr prayer, he would remain seated in his place, cross-legged, until the sun had risen well. Sahih, narrated by Abu Dawood.

قال الشيخ زبير على زئي:صحيح
(حَالَاتٌ مُخْتَلِفَةٌ لِلنَّوْمِ أَثْنَاءَ السَّفَرِ)
(Different states of sleeping during travel)
Hadith Number: 4716
4716 - وعن ابي قتادة - رضي الله عنه -: ان النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - كان إذا عرس بليل اضطجع على شقه الايمن ، وإذا عرس قبيل الصبح نصب ذراعه ووضع راسه على كفه. رواه في"شرح السنة".
It is narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) camped at night, he would lie down on his right side, and when he camped shortly before morning, he would prop up his elbow and rest his head on his palm. Sahih, narrated in Sharh al-Sunnah.

(الْمَسْجِدُ يَكُونُ قَرِيبًا مِنْ رَأْسِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ)
(The mosque was close to the head of the Prophet, peace be upon him)
Hadith Number: 4717
4717 - وعن بعض آل ام سلمة، قال: كان فراش رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - نحوا مما يوضع في قبره ، وكان المسجد عند راسه. رواه ابو داود.
Someone from the family of Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, narrated that the bed of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was only as much as the cloth in which a deceased is placed in the grave, and the mosque (some said: prayer mat) was near his head. Its chain of narration is weak, narrated by Abu Dawood.
