Hadith Number: 5256
Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather, that they narrated from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "There are two qualities; whoever possesses them, Allah writes him as grateful and patient. Whoever, in matters of religion, looks at someone above him and follows him, and in worldly matters looks at someone below him and thanks Allah for the superiority He has granted him over that person, then Allah writes him as grateful and patient. And whoever, in matters of religion, looks at someone below him and in worldly matters looks at someone above him and grieves over what he has not received, then Allah does not write him as grateful and patient." Its chain is weak; it is narrated by al-Tirmidhi. And the hadith narrated from Abu Sa'id: "Rejoice, O poor group of emigrants," is mentioned after the chapter on the virtues of the Qur'an.

Abu Abdur Rahman Hubli narrates: I heard Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) say, a man asked him: Are we not among the poor emigrants? Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: Do you have a wife with whom you spend the night? He said: Yes! He said: Do you have a house to live in? He said: Yes! He said: Then you are among the wealthy. He said: I even have a servant. He said: Then you are a king. Abdur Rahman said: Three men came to Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), and I was with him at that time. They said: Abu Muhammad! By Allah! We have nothing, no expenses, no ride, and no belongings. He said to them: What do you want? If you wish, you may come to us, and whatever Allah has made available to us, we will give to you. And if you wish, we can mention your case to the king. And if you wish, you may be patient, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The poor emigrants will enter Paradise forty years before the wealthy on the Day of Resurrection." They said: We will be patient and we will not ask for anything. Narrated by Muslim.

Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was sitting in the mosque while a group of the poor Muhajirun were also gathered in a circle. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived, he joined their circle, and I also got up and went towards them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give glad tidings to the poor Muhajirun of that which will make their faces rejoice, for they will enter Paradise forty years before the wealthy." The narrator states: I saw that their faces began to shine, and Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Until I wished that I was with them or among them. Sahih, narrated by Al-Darimi.

Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: My beloved (the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) commanded me regarding seven things. He (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded me to love the poor and to remain close to them. He commanded me to look towards those who are lower than me (in worldly matters) and not to look towards those who are above me. He commanded me to maintain ties of kinship even if they cut me off. He commanded me not to ask anything from anyone. He commanded me to speak the truth even if it is bitter. He commanded me not to fear the blame of any blamer regarding Allah (the truth). And he commanded me to recite ((Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh)) frequently, for these words are among the treasures beneath the Throne. “ Its chain is Hasan, narrated by Ahmad.
