Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: One day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came and said: "The nations were presented before me. A prophet passed by with one man with him, another prophet passed by with two men with him, and another prophet passed by with a few men with him, while there was a prophet with whom there was not even one person. Then I saw a large group spreading across the horizon. I hoped that this would be my Ummah, but I was told that this is Musa (peace be upon him) with his people. Then I was told, look, and I saw a very large group spreading across the horizon. I was told: Look to this side (right, left), and I saw a very large group spreading across the horizon. I was told that this is your Ummah, and with them are seventy thousand who will enter Paradise without reckoning. These are the people who neither took bad omens, nor sought ruqyah (spiritual healing), nor cauterized, and they put their trust only in their Lord." At that moment, Ukasha bin Mihsan (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said, "Pray to Allah that He makes me among them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! Make him among them." Then another man stood up and said, "Pray to Allah that He makes me among them too." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ukasha has preceded you in this." Agreed upon.

Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The affair of the believer is indeed amazing; all of his affairs are good for him, and this is only for the believer. If something good happens to him, he is grateful, and that is better for him. If something harmful befalls him, he is patient, and that is better for him." Narrated by Muslim.

Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than a weak believer, though there is good in all (the believers). So strive for that which benefits you, seek help from Allah, and do not be helpless or lazy. And if any harm befalls you, do not say: If I had done (such and such), then (such and such) would have happened; rather say: Allah decreed (this), and whatever He willed, He did. For indeed, the word 'if' opens the deeds of Satan." Narrated by Muslim.

I have commanded you regarding everything that brings you closer to Paradise and keeps you away from Hell, and I have forbidden you from everything that brings you closer to Hell and keeps you away from Paradise. Indeed, the Trustworthy Spirit, and in another narration: indeed, the Holy Spirit, has inspired in my heart that no soul will die until it has completed its provision. Listen! Fear Allah and seek provision in a good way, and do not let the delay in provision drive you to seek it through disobedience to Allah, for what is with Allah can only be obtained through His obedience.”Sharh al-Sunnah, al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab al-Iman, however, Imam al-Bayhaqi did not mention“wa inna Ruh al-Qudus.”Its chain is weak, narrated in Sharh al-Sunnah and al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab al-Iman.

Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he said: "Renunciation of the world (zuhd) does not mean making the lawful unlawful and wasting wealth, but true renunciation of the world is that what is in your hand is not more trustworthy to you than what is in Allah’s hand, and that when you are afflicted with a calamity, you do not wish that it had not happened to you, hoping for the reward of that calamity." And when you ask, ask only from Allah; when you seek help, seek help only from Allah. And know that if the whole nation were to gather together to benefit you with something, they would not be able to benefit you except with what Allah has already written for you.
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he participated in a campaign towards Najd with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) returned, he also returned with him. The Companions were overtaken by sleep (siesta) at noon in a valley full of dense thorny trees. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) camped there (for rest), and the Companions dispersed in search of the shade of the trees. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) camped under an acacia tree and hung his sword on it, and we slept for a short while. Suddenly, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) began calling us. We saw that a Bedouin was with him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "He drew my sword against me while I was resting. I woke up and the sword was unsheathed in his hand. He said: 'Who will protect you from me?' I said three times: 'Allah (will protect me).' The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not rebuke him for anything and sat down." Agreed upon.

And Abu Bakr Isma‘ili narrated in his Sahih as follows: He said,“Who will protect you from me?”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied,“Allah!”The sword fell from his hand, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took the sword and said,“Who will protect you from me?”He said,“You are the best one to take hold (i.e., forgive),”so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“Do you bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and that I am the Messenger of Allah?”He replied,“No, but I promise you that I will not fight you, nor will I support those who fight you.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) let him go (set him free). He (the Bedouin) went back to his companions and said,“I have come to you from the best of people.”It is likewise in Kitab al-Humaydi and Riyadh as-Salihin. Its chain is authentic; it was narrated by an-Nawawi in Riyadh as-Salihin and al-Bayhaqi in Dala’il an-Nubuwwah.
