Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "Indeed, there is a surah in the Qur'an which has thirty verses. This surah will continue to seek forgiveness for its reciter until that person is forgiven. (That surah is) «تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ» , so Abu Usamah affirmed his statement by saying: Yes."

(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, "It seeks forgiveness for its companion (i.e., the one who regularly recites or memorizes it)" means the reward of its recitation. Here, the application of the name is upon the result obtained from it, and that is the reward. Just as the application of the name of the surah is also upon its very existence. Similarly, in the narration transmitted from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah, may Allah be pleased with him, the meaning of the Prophet Muhammad's statement is the reward of reciting the Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqarah, and Surah Aal-e-Imran, because the Arabs, in their idiom, sometimes apply a name to the result obtained from it, as we have mentioned earlier.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "There is a surah in the Qur'an which has thirty verses. It will continue to seek forgiveness for the one who recites it until that person is forgiven. (That surah is) «تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ» ."

Farwah bin Nawfal Ashja'i narrates from his father that he said: I presented myself before the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Teach me something that I may recite when I go to bed. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Recite this «قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ» .

Furwah bin Nawfal narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Do you want to take your stepdaughter? She is under the guardianship of her stepfather. The narrator states: Then he came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked him the same question. He replied: I have left her with her mother. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Why have you come? He said: I have come so that you may teach me something which I can recite when I go to sleep. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: You should recite Surah Al-Kafiroon; recite it completely before sleeping, for it is a declaration of disassociation from shirk (polytheism).

Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man heard another man reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas repeatedly. The next day, he came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned this to him, considering that person to regard this Surah as insignificant. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to that person,“By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, it is equal to one third of the Qur’an.”

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! I love Surah Al-Ikhlas." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your love for it will admit you into Paradise."

Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed a man as the leader of an expedition. He used to recite Surah Ikhlas while leading his companions in prayer. When they returned, they mentioned this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Ask him why he does so. The people asked him, and he replied: I like to recite this Surah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Inform him that Allah Almighty also loves him.

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man used to regularly recite Surah Ikhlas along with every Surah in prayer, and he would also lead his companions in prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him about this, so he replied: I love this Surah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Your love for this Surah will admit you to Paradise.

Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once I was behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He was riding at that time and I placed my hand on his blessed hand. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Teach me to recite Surah Hud and Surah Yusuf. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: You will not learn to recite anything that is more eloquent before Allah Almighty than Surah Al-Falaq (or that holds a higher rank).

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jabir, recite (the Qur'an)." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I said, "May my parents be sacrificed for you, what should I recite?" He said: "Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I recited both of them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You should recite both of them. You will not recite any other Surah like these two."
