Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Once, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) went with the Prophet (peace be upon him) along with some people towards Ibn Sayyad, until they found him playing with other children near the buildings of Banu Maghalah. At that time, Ibn Sayyad was close to reaching puberty. He did not realize it until the Prophet (peace be upon him) struck his hand on his back. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to Ibn Sayyad: Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah? Ibn Sayyad said: Do you bear witness that I am the messenger of Allah? So the Prophet (peace be upon him) pushed him aside and said: I believe in Allah and (His true) Messengers. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked him: What do you see? Ibn Sayyad said: A truthful one and a liar come to me. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him: The matter has been confused for you. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked him: I have thought of something for you. Ibn Sayyad said: It is "Dukh" (smoke). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him: Go away, you will not go beyond your status.
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted to the Prophet (peace be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! Allow me to strike his neck. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him: If you reach him, you will not be able to overpower him, and if you do not reach him, then there is no good for you in killing him.
Ibn Shihab says: Salim narrated this, I heard Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) saying: After this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) and Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) went towards the date-palm garden in which Ibn Sayyad was present. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) entered the date-palm garden, he began to hide himself among the branches of the date-palms. He wanted to hear something from Ibn Sayyad before he saw him. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw him, he was lying on a bed, covered with a sheet, from which a murmuring sound was coming. When Ibn Sayyad's mother saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) trying to hide behind the branches of the date-palms, she said to Ibn Sayyad: (The Prophet (peace be upon him) is here). So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If you had left him as he was (it would have been better).
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) stood among the people, praised Allah as He deserves, then mentioned the Dajjal and said: I am warning you about him. Every Prophet has warned his people about him. Sayyiduna Nuh (peace be upon him) warned his people about him, but I am telling you something about him that no Prophet told his people: Know that he will be one-eyed, and indeed your Lord is not one-eyed.

Asir bin Jabir narrates: A strong wind began to blow while we were present with Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) became angry, to the extent that we could see the signs of anger on his face. He said,“Woe to you! The Hour will not be established until inheritance is no longer distributed and people are no longer delighted with spoils of war. Then, pointing with his hand towards Syria, he said: The enemy will gather for the Muslims in that direction, then they will confront each other, and the condition will be set that they will fight to the death (and will not return). Only the one who prevails will return. They will continue fighting until the sun sets, then both groups will return, and no one will have disappeared, and the time of the condition will have ended. Then, the next day, the condition of death will be set again, that only the one who prevails will return. They will fight until the sun sets, then both groups will return, and neither will have prevailed, and the condition will have ended. Then, on the third day, the condition of death will be set again, that only the one who prevails will return. They will continue fighting until the sun sets, then both groups will return, and neither will have prevailed. Then, on the fourth day, there will be fighting between them, and they will fight them and drive them back, until blood reaches the necks of the horses, and the fighting will continue until the sons of one father will confront a hundred men, and they will be killed until only one man remains among them. Then, after that, how will inheritance be distributed, and with what spoils will happiness be attained? Then, the people will conquer Constantinople. While they are distributing dinars and shields, a great and distressing event will come upon them. The Dajjal will appear among your children, so whatever is in their hands, they will throw it away and come (to face him). They will send their horsemen. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: They will be the best horsemen on the face of the earth that day. I know their names, the names of their fathers, the names of their tribes, and the colors of their horses.”

She said: Alright. It was announced: Gather together! So the people gathered, and the people became anxious. Sayyidah Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ascended the pulpit, praised and glorified Allah, and said:“I have not gathered you here out of desire or fear, but rather an incident has occurred which Tamim Dari has narrated to me. He says that he and thirty men from the tribes of Lakhm and Judham were traveling by sea. He narrated that the sea (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words) the waves began to play with us, and this continued for a month, then our boat reached an island in the sea. Tamim Dari narrates: We disembarked and went towards the island, where we met a woman who was pulling at her hair. We could not tell whether she was coming or going. We asked: Who are you? She said: I am ‘Jassasah’. We said: Tell us something. She said: Go to the person in the church, he will inform you and will also ask you for information. Tamim Dari narrates: We went to him, and he was a man—then she mentioned his great size—he was bound with iron chains. We asked: Who are you? He said: First tell me about that which I will ask you. They said: Ask us. He asked: What is the condition of the date palms of Baisan? Are their fruits still being eaten? We replied: Yes. He said: Soon they will not be eaten. Then he asked: Tell me about the spring of Zughar, is there water in it? We replied: Yes. He said: Soon there will be no water in it. Then he said: Tell me about that man, has he appeared? They replied: Yes. He said: Indeed, he is truthful, so follow him. We asked: Who are you? He said: I am the Dajjal.”Kahmas narrates: Ibn Buraidah mentioned something here which I do not remember, but in it are these words: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“The earth will be folded for him, so that he will circle the entire earth in forty days.”

Imam Sha’bi narrates: We heard Sayyidah Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her) saying: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) ascended the pulpit, praised and glorified Allah, then said: I am warning you about the Dajjal. Every prophet before me has warned his nation about him, and he will appear among you. O Ummah! Indeed, there is no prophet after me, and there is no nation after you. However, Tamim Dari has informed me that his cousin and his companions were traveling in the sea of Sham. They reached an island where there was a woman pulling her hair. They asked: Who are you? She said: Jassasah (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words) Jassasah. They said: Tell us about something. She said: I will not tell you about anything, nor will I ask you about anything, but go to the place of worship, there is a man there who is eager to meet you. They went to the place of worship and found a man there, whose eye was defective, and he was bound in iron chains to a pillar. He asked: Where have you come from? Who are you? They replied: From the people of Sham. He asked: Who are you? They replied: We are Arabs. He said: What is the condition of the Arabs? They said: Among them, a prophet has appeared who is from the land of Tayma. He asked: What is the condition of the people? They said: Some of them have affirmed him, and some have denied him. He said: If they affirm him and follow him, it is better for them if they know. Then he asked: What are your houses made of? They said: Of hair and wool, which our women prepare. The narrator says: He struck his hand on his knees and said: That is it. Then he asked: What is the condition of the Lake of Tiberias? They said: Its shores are overflowing. He struck his hand on his knees and said: Hurry up. Then he asked: What is the condition of the spring of Zughar? They said: Its banks are overflowing, and whoever comes to it drinks to his fill. He struck his hand on his knees and said: Hurry up. Then he asked: What is the condition of the date palms of Baisan? They said: Their branches bear fruit all year round. He struck his hand on his knees and said: Hurry up. Then he said: If I am freed from these chains, there will be no spring that I will not trample, except for Makkah and Taybah (i.e., Madinah), for I am not permitted to go there.
(The narrator says) Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is Taybah. I declare it sacred just as Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) declared Makkah sacred. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, on every path leading into it through the land and mountains, there are two angels stationed, with swords drawn, ready to prevent the Dajjal from entering it until the Day of Resurrection.
