Chapter: What to say after salam
Hadith Number: 1386
Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, he would say «اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهُ» three times, then he would say: up to «اللّٰهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ ...... "O Allah, You are free from all defects and from You is peace. O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, You are greatly blessed."

The scribe of Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him), Warid, said that Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) had me write a letter for Sayyiduna Mu’awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) stating that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite this supplication after every obligatory prayer. منك الجد» )“There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, sovereignty belongs to Him and all praise is for Him, and He is powerful over everything. O Allah! There is none who can withhold what You give, and none who can give what You withhold, and the wealth of the wealthy will not benefit them in Your presence.”

Chapter: Which side to turn after prayer
Hadith Number: 1388
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said that no person should allocate any portion of his prayer to the share of Satan in such a way that he makes it necessary for himself to always turn only to the right side. I have seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) frequently turning to the left side (after prayer).

Chapter: Saying tasbih after prayers
Hadith Number: 1391
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! The wealthy people have taken all the rewards; they pray as we pray, and they fast as we fast, but they give charity from their surplus wealth, and we have nothing to give in charity. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Shall I not tell you of an action, that if you adhere to it, you will catch up with those who have surpassed you (in reward), and no one will reach your rank except one who does the same as you?”Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! Do tell me of such an action. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said (that action is): After every prayer, say «سبحان الله» thirty-three times, and say «الحمد لله» thirty-three times, and say «الله اكبر» thirty-three times, and complete one hundred with «لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْيءٍ قَدِيْر» at the end.

Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were commanded to say «سبحان الله» 33 times, «الحمد لله» 33 times, and «الله اكبر» 34 times after every prayer. Then a man from among the Ansar was told in a dream: Has your Prophet commanded you to say tasbih 33 times, tahmid 33 times, and takbir 34 times after every prayer? He said: Yes. So he (the one in the dream) said: Say them 25 times each, and say «لا اله الا الله» 25 times. When this dream was mentioned to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Do so."

Chapter: First thing a servant is judged for on Judgment Day
Hadith Number: 1393
Sayyiduna Tamim Dari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“(On the Day of Resurrection) the first thing for which a servant will be called to account will be the prayer. If his prayer is complete, it will be recorded as complete, and if there is any deficiency in it, Allah Almighty will say to His angels: ‘See if My servant has any voluntary prayers?’ If he has, then complete his obligatory prayer with his voluntary prayers. The same will be done with zakat and all other obligatory deeds.”Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I do not know of anyone besides Hammad who has narrated this report as marfu‘ (attributed to the Prophet). Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: Is its being marfu‘ authentic? He said: No.

Chapter: Description of the Prophet’s prayer
Hadith Number: 1394
Sayyiduna Abu Humayd Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) said, who was with ten companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), among whom was Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) as well. Sayyiduna Abu Humayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I have the most knowledge among you all about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). They said: Why is that? Are you more of a follower of him than us, or did you stay with him more than us? He said: Yes, that is so. They said: Then present it. Sayyiduna Abu Humayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would stand for prayer, he would raise his hands up to his shoulders, then say Allahu Akbar until all the joints became straight, then he would recite (Qira’ah), then say Allahu Akbar and raise both hands up to the shoulders, then go into ruku’ and place both palms on both knees until every bone returned to its original position, and (in ruku’) he would neither raise his head nor lower it (keeping it level with the back), then while raising his head from ruku’ he would say «سمع الله لمن حمده» and raise his hands up to the shoulders. Abu ‘Asim said: I think at that time too he said: (after rising from ruku’ he would stand) until every bone (joint) returned to its place (original position), then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say Allahu Akbar and go into prostration (sajdah) and in prostration he would keep both hands (arms) away from the sides, then he would raise his head from prostration and fold his left foot and sit on it, and when he prostrated he would keep the toes of his feet spread, then perform the second prostration, then while saying Allahu Akbar he would raise his head from prostration and fold his left foot and sit on it properly until every bone (joint) returned to its original position (i.e., he would sit calmly in the sitting of rest), then he would stand up and do the same in the second rak’ah, and when he stood for the third rak’ah he would again raise his hands up to the shoulders as he did at the beginning of the prayer, then he would complete his prayer in the same way until when he sat for the last tashahhud or sitting in which salam is said, he would take out his left foot (from under the right foot) and sit with tawarruk on the left side. The narrator said: All ten companions said: You have spoken the truth, this was exactly the way of the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Hadith Number: 1395
Sayyiduna Wa'il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I resolved in my heart that I would definitely see how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the prayer. So I watched him: he stood up, said Allahu Akbar, and raised both his hands up to his ears (i.e., performed Raf’ al-Yadayn), and placed his right hand over the back of his left hand. Then, when he intended to bow (ruku’), he raised his hands in the same way (performed Raf’ al-Yadayn), and (in ruku’) placed both his hands on his knees. Then, when he raised his head from ruku’, he performed Raf’ al-Yadayn, then when he prostrated, he placed his hands level with his ears. Then (after rising from prostration) he sat, spread his left foot (on the ground), placed his left hand on his left thigh and left knee, and placed his right elbow on his right thigh. Then he bent two fingers (i.e., the thumb and the middle finger) to form a ring, and kept the index finger raised. I saw him moving it, as if he was supplicating with it by gesture. Sayyiduna Wa'il (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Then, after a long time, I came in the winter and saw that people were wrapped in their cloaks and were moving their hands inside their cloaks (for Raf’ al-Yadayn).
